Free photo
[edit]I'm not sure if the current really good but non-free photo should be replaced by this free one I took recently:

I'd think that is not so much a flattering picture of Jennifer. Plus, a publicity shot from the record company certainly qualifies as "Fair Use" in Wikipedia article. 24.79.92.100 16:18, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
I think it's a great picture of Jennifer. 74.192.234.204 (talk) 23:16, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
Too Trivial
[edit]The bit about the Coffee County High School Jazz Band is perhaps not entirely relevant?
Southern accent
[edit]Enough crap about her accent, okay? This is Wikipedia, we need to conform to a neutral point of view, and 'irritiating' is hardly a neutral adjective. Ten Pound Hammer • (((Actions • Words))) 12:34, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- I'd rather have said 'irritating' but to each his own. I have not heard her speak but if I found her voice 'irritating' I would be aware that 'irritating' is a subjective description whilst other descriptions - even if they take a few seconds serious thought to come by - would indeed be more appropriate.
Jennifer Nettles is a really good singer

Today the page looks really good
[edit]2/24/09
It was starting to get gappy, if that's a word. Kmzundel added new headings, moved things around more appropriately, and generally cleansed the article. I really like it. When I came around in January I saw a notice at the top of the page that references needed to be added but I was afraid to touch it.
Anyhoo.... kudos to Kmzundel, you are doing an outstanding job, mate. Jenn will be proud when she sees the way the page looks now.
Sugarlandfan (talk) 01:42, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the kind comments. It nice to have ones efforts appreciated. Kmzundel (talk) 03:29, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
Memory Dean
[edit]Kmzundel, could you take a look at this article referring to Jennifer's relationship to Memory Dean's 1999 cut "Fix Your Heart"? Can you (will you) smoothly merge and summarize and add Memory Dean to Info Box? I think so and I hope you will try. http://smartech.gatech.edu/bitstream/1853/7825/2/2000-03-03_entertainment.pdf Sugarlandfan (talk) 20:28, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
- I'd be happy to help...although it may take a day or two for me to get to it. But I promise that I will. Kmzundel (talk) 22:21, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
Thank you so much! It looks awesome and I appreciate your time and effort (and I'm learning so much from you).Sugarlandfan (talk) 22:51, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
- Well, that's one of the nicest compliments ever. You're welcome. :-) Kmzundel (talk) 11:57, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
Merle Haggard Reference
[edit]Providing citations for NARAS 2006 Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Merle Haggard. The first one shows the year he won http://www.grammy.com/Recording_Academy/Awards/Lifetime_Awards/ , an additional citation of Jennifer presenting http://www.cmt.com/news/country-music/1523812/urban-hill-and-sugarland-prepare-for-grammy-show.jhtml Sugarlandfan (talk) 23:20, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
Kmzundel, thanks again! Sugarlandfan (talk) 22:53, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
25 Random Things
[edit]Jennifer submitted "25 Random Things About Jennifer Nettles" to a magazine via her blackberry. While it isn't related to anything in Wikipedia I'm noting it here for future reference. You never know when those baby teeth might inspire a new song... lol, http://www.sugarlandmusic.com/news_d.aspx?nid=4157 .Sugarlandfan (talk) 12:19, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
Seth
[edit]Can MySpace serve as a citation? I would say 'No'. Before it gets put on the main page, what are your thoughts? Here's the URL, http://www.myspace.com/sethricketson Sugarlandfan (talk) 11:15, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
- According to WP:REF MySpace not really even supposed to be used under External Links, altough I believe there has been debate for and against linking to MySpace pages on musicians' pages. I don't think it meets criteria to be a cited source, although I'm by no means an expert. Kmzundel (talk) 00:50, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
The references to Seth's Air Force career and her sister's singing career seem irrelevant. Her mother is a school teacher and that seems more relevant, but not noteworthy. I would be for reverting the article to mention Seth and Bryce only as siblings. Sugarlandfan (talk) 09:31, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
The Jennifer Nettles Band
[edit]Again, I'd like to ask Kmzundel to edit the main article to include a 2000 award for JNB http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Unsigned+Band+Wins+Recording+Contract+With+Mars+Music+Records%2FPalm%3B...-a067371372 . Thank you so much! Sugarlandfan (talk) 12:48, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
- Will try to get to this later today. Kmzundel (talk) 12:25, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Nice. I find your style is my style if I had style, see? Yes, I think you do. Countless thanks for your help big K. Always a pleasure, Sugarlandfan (talk) 22:19, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- My pleasure, Sugarlandfan. :-) Kmzundel (talk) 23:23, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Activism
[edit]The '2007 CMT Change For Change Tour' is the source of $1 from each ticket sale, which makes sense because 'Love On The Inside' launched in late July 2008. Here's a reference to a CMA Awards article, http://www.cmaawards.com/2007/news/press_detail.asp?re=675&year=2007 Sugarlandfan (talk) 21:10, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
I was curious about the recipient of her charity, the Shalom Foundation. On Google there are several similarly-named charities and after a bit of research I found the right one.
- Shalom Foundation | Home Page: http://www.theshalomfoundation.org/
- Shalom Foundation | Media about Sugarland: http://www.theshalomfoundation.org/files.php?CatID=8
- Shalom Foundation | Sugarland Press Release: http://www.theshalomfoundation.org/siteadmin/uploads/document/sugarlandupdatedrelease.pdf
The press release can be used to back up / replace these references:
- [25] CMT no longer links to that info.
- [26] Dining Stars domain is 404 File Not Found.
Although we can't use it without release, if you're interested they also have a photo of Jennifer Nettles in Guatemala:
May I also suggest that a Wikipedia page be created for The Shalom Foundation and linked to in this article?
PS: I went to Agnes Scott College with Jennifer and can attest that she's a really nice person. I'm a complete nerd but she was always friendly to me. Our Class of '97 won several Sister Class Song Competitions due to her excellent singer/songwriter skills. ACM Awards 2009
[edit]Thanks for the update Kmzundel! --Kind regards,Sugarlandfan (talk) 23:51, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Check out an old recording of her with Athens songwriter Josh Perkins
[edit]There is a cool song I found recently called 3rd degree burn with Jennifer singing with a guy named Josh Perkins. It is on his album Cheap Guitars. I think you can get it on iTunes. I can't find it in stores though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.81.16.194 (talk) 21:41, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
