"Songwriter"

[edit]

Jennifer now has 104 songwriting credits, incl. some of her biggest hits. It at least deserves a mention in the infobox. https://www.ascap.com/repertory#/ace/writer/352848639/LOPEZ%20JENNIFER%20LYNN Israell (talk) 05:42, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why is she getting plaudits for writing her own music?! lmao 71.200.16.180 (talk) 19:01, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah. Mr.Shadow514 (talk) 00:13, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Who keeps removing this from the infobox? The lede is for the most notable professions. The infobox is for the most notable and second to most notable professions. Jennifer Lynn Lopez has 104 songwriting credits, and this information totally belongs in the infobox since this is a major part of her artistry; it's a great portion of the songs that she recorded. Whether or not part of the public regards her as a songwriter is irrelevant when it comes to the infobox. Israell (talk) 05:29, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Occupations

[edit]

Just a quick question, even though she's been singing for many years, why would you only want "actress" to go first? Mr.Shadow514 (talk) 00:14, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why her acting career is not more important than her record career? She's been more consistent with her acting career Phạm Huy Thông (talk) 15:53, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Why and how is her career more consistent? Explain how? Mr.Shadow514 (talk) 18:32, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

newspapers.com is a month behind but I just happened to see this article. A Google search doesn't seem to have an update so I'm assuming we have to wait until the change is granted.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 17:50, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Mention her first as a singer and then as an actress in the lead as she is mostly known for her singing career. 62.74.24.234 (talk) 09:20, 9 November 2024 (UTC) 62.74.24.234 (talk) 09:20, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done How is she more known for that? Can you find sources? Besides, the lead mentions: "Lopez began her career as a dancer, making her television debut as a Fly Girl on the sketch comedy series In Living Color in 1991. She later rose to prominence as an actress, with leading roles in the films Selena (1997), Anaconda (1997) and Out of Sight (1998) establishing her as the highest-paid Latin actress. She successfully ventured into the music industry with her debut album On the 6 (1999)." Chronologically, acting first, becoming the highest-paid Latin actress, and then into a music career. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 09:50, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

She is mentioned in the infobox first as a singer and then as an actress. Besides, take a look at the Ariana Grande article, she may have started her career as an actress initially but she is mentioned firstly as a singer and then as an actress. 62.74.24.234 (talk) 09:58, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe the infobox needs to be changed then. That is called "WP:WHATABOUTX" in Wikipedia terminology: we're discussing this article, not how another article looks. Wikipedia is based upon reliable sources, if you can find sources, then sure. But a claim like "she is mostly known" is not an argument. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 10:06, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I posed the other article as an example because it's exactly the same case; Both Grande and Lopez are known first as singers and then as actresses. 62.74.24.234 (talk) 10:21, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Again, that's WP:OTHERSTUFF. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 11:06, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I insist it's the same case but anyways, lead section says "Lopez began her career as a dancer" so with that logic we should start the sentence by calling her a dancer even though this isn't her claim to fame. 62.74.24.234 (talk) 11:17, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
