France recognized Palestine this summer
[edit]Note that this is because a new government got elected in the National Assembly, a left government 2A01:E0A:493:4210:14A:1946:9A05:9D20 (talk) 06:26, 7 September 2024 (UTC)
- Btw, that's the text of the Sénat proposing the decision :

Treating this as an edit request, there is no decision yet. The French parliament voted in 2014 to recognize and Macron is thinking about it, under some pressure from the left. Selfstudier (talk) 08:57, 7 September 2024 (UTC)
Ireland has full diplomatic relations with the State of Palestine
[edit]In the list of countries with diplomatic relations with Palestine the article falsely states that Ireland does not have relations with Palestine. In a press release by the Irish government dated 28 May 2024 it states that "Ireland recognises the State of Palestine". The release continues, "At a meeting of government today (May 28th) Ireland formally recognised the State of Palestine. The Government recognises Palestine as a sovereign and independent state and agreed to establish full diplomatic relations between Dublin and Ramallah. An Ambassador of Ireland to the State of Palestine will be appointed along with a full Embassy of Ireland in Ramallah." https://www.gov.ie/en/press-release/71936-ireland-recognises-the-state-of-palestine/ SanVitoresII (talk) 08:07, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
- Read the text again. It says agreed to which means that the two have not established ties effectively. If the article said decided to, then it would mean that they did establish ties immediately. Underdwarf58 (talk) 13:33, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
- what about "Authorizes"?

- Not a great source that, anyway the important point is recognition, the rest is just dressing in due course. Not worth worrying about. Selfstudier (talk) 14:59, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
- The Palestinian legation in Ireland has been formally upgraded to a full Embassy, as of today - [1] Culloty82 (talk) 14:03, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
Use of quotation marks around Palestine violates NPOV
[edit]I hereby start a public inquiry if the quotation marks that are present at this time in the very last paragraph of the article should be removed:
"In an objection of 16 May 2014, Israel informed the Secretary General of the United Nations that it did not consider that 'Palestine' (single quotation marks in original)..."
It is already stated that Israel is using quotation marks in its communication. The actual use of quotation marks around Palestine is useless and violates NPOV. Please deliver your For, Against and Neutral statements here:

This is not true. She has called for recognition but not formally recognized. As has been said before we need to see an official gov statement. Selfstudier (talk) 15:00, 27 October 2024 (UTC)

For if Ireland and Palestine have public relations, it should "YES" Samy Sleiman (talk) 22:01, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- Not done... I have no idea what you are asking to have changed. Please format your edit request as "change X to Y", with reliable sources if necessary. - Adolphus79 (talk) 00:03, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- It seems that Palestine and Ireland have established formal diplomatic relations a month ago: Palestinian Ambassador to Ireland appointed for first time, but the "Diplomatic relations" column in this artcle states otherwise. I think the user above was asking for an update. 2A02:1808:182:1B07:0:0:0:1 (talk) 13:09, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
