Name change & expansion

If no one has any objections, I will return and change the page name to Hotel-Casino, which is what the industry both in Las Vegas and elsewhere calls itself. The proposed name is available. Merge and split discussion (September 2023)

To merge most of the content of Integrated resort to Casino hotel (short text and context; overlap), but to create a separate Integrated resorts in Singapore page for the history of development of this concept in Singapore. Klbrain (talk) 17:39, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Well, aren't the articles Casino hotel and Integrated resort about the same concept of 'hotels with casino' (and vice versa)? So I thought it'd be better to merge the latter into the former. But at the same time, I also thought that the Singapore's case as described in the latter article is so long that it deserves an own article titled Integrated resorts in Singapore. I think the main difference is the intention here.

Integrated resort is a major resort property that includes a hotel with a casino, together with convention facilities, entertainment shows, theme parks, luxury retail and fine dining.
Casino hotel is an establishment consisting of a casino with temporary lodging provided in an on-premises hotel.

An integrated resort is basically a property which includes a hotel and casino (aka casino is one of the facilities) while a casino hotel is primarily a casino with a hotel (with facilities) constructed for the casino.

I will agree with the split to have a summarised history of how the term integrated resort comes to being in the main article and then another article titled Integrated resorts in Singapore with the current details. JASWE (talk) 05:04, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
