Weblogs and web servers

[edit]

I think that these two examples represent technological growth rather than information growth, although there's certainly a link between the number of servers and the quantity of information. topynate (talk) 14:14, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Original research

[edit]

This article seems to engage in a bit of original research, mostly in that it purports to show the first use of the term through a citation to a primary source – the story cited itself as the first use. What we need are citations to secondary sources that explicitly identify the first use of the term, not the first use that someone found through their own research. There are other references made to primary sources that identify its use in specific places; these should be cleaned up, too. A secondary source is also needed to tie the Netcraft stats to this topic. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 09:46, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. More than that, flawed original research. As anyone knows, information [does not explode]. To say so is to insist in what Hjørland (2014) calls "poor terminological hygiene".
