I've noticed that the author of this article has created several articles about "physical culture" and described them as subsets of Physical culture. This is not accurate, the term is being misused here. I suggest this page should be merged with Sport in India. 412jordan (talk) 06:01, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@User:GreekApple123 pinging you on this since you wrote the entire article 412jordan (talk) 23:35, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what to say. The sources I used to write this article generally used the term "Indian physical culture", though they weren't claiming that Indian physical culture is a subset of the physical culture phenomenon that started in the West in the 19th century. (If you want to see some examples of such sources, see https://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&as_sdt=0%2C5&q=%22Indian+physical+culture%22&btnG=). So, I suppose the term Indian physical culture shouldn't be treated as a subset of "Western physical culture", but the term "Indian physical culture" itself is valid as per the sources and can be used to describe a wide range of phenomena in India which are broader than just sport.
Since there is complexity to this, perhaps it might be helpful to get broader community feedback on the naming/merging of these various physical culture-related articles. GreekApple123 (talk) 01:04, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Physical culture started in the 19th-century. This article is completely wrong. Most of the article is WP:OR, there is also original research on the article Western physical culture. Please only uses sources that mention "physical culture". Psychologist Guy (talk) 12:04, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
