- User:Fbb_fan - primarily focused on articles relating to female bodybuilders
- Skookum1 - former BC/WA/OR/AB muscle photog, now "seriously into training" (better late than never...i.e. at 51...)

- Riko - I'll do what I can to improve any article
- Mipchunk - I can add little things here and there. I must admit my knowledge lies more in the realm of weight training (for athletic purposes) than in bodybuilding, but I'll do whatever I can to help.

Goals
[edit]The goals of this project are twofold.
- 1. To greatly improve the quality of the existing wikipedia articles pertaining to bodybuilding (especially the bio pages of notable bodybuilders). As it stands these articles for the most part need attention as many are:
- a) unreferenced
- b) barely or completely uncategorized (for example I recently created the category Category:Professional bodybuilders as a sub category of Category:Bodybuilders. Not only that but I personally have created a tonne of Category:Bodybuilders subcategories according to the subject's geographical location.
- c) pages which contain little information are not stubbed
- d) almost every bio page has no image, or, even worse uses a copyrighted image from a magazine which is not being used correctly under the fair use doctrine. These images need to be replaced with a legitimate image (ideally), or removed at this time
- e) Misformatted. The articles do not follow the guidelines of WP:MOS. Small things like External Links instead of External links, lists of titles or shows that use the <br/> code to insert each line instead of a * bullet point format.
- f) Ensure consistency. Currently the bio pages use completely different styles and terminology. Some will say Bodybuilding titles, others Titles won, Bodybuilding career etc. One template needs to be decided on and used throughout.
- g) Complete the List of professional bodybuilders - currently Category:Professional bodybuilders is a good place to start as I tried to be thorough when categorising this from the many geographical bodybuilder categories.
- h) Finally we need to build them so they are Wikipedia:Featured article level. Our goal should to promptly built at least one bodybuilding article to featured article status (and no the Arnold article does not count!)
- 2. To complete the Category:Bodybuilding by writing new articles so the category encompasses all notable subjects within the bodybuilding realm. Scores of IFBB pro articles are missing, too many Red links when listing notable shows, and even the articles regarding notable supplements and/or supplement companies. As Jimbo says Let's build this encyclopedia - so let's Be bold and do it!

Tasks
[edit]- Reference concerned about number of completely unreferenced articles
- Categorize - Bio articles are especially bad (or at least were - awesome work fixing the categorization of the Category:Professional bodybuilders articles (I went to do this today and it was done!) - also we should ensure the geographic bodybuilder subcategories are listed
- Stubbing - {{Bodybuilding-stub}} is now official - so pages which contain little information need this added
- Copyrighted images almost every bio page has no image, or, even worse uses a copyrighted image from a magazine which is not being used correctly under the fair use doctrine. These images need to be replaced with a legitimate image (ideally), or removed at this time
- Formatting The articles do not follow the guidelines of WP:MOS. Small things like External Links instead of External links, lists of titles or shows that use the <br/> code to insert each line instead of a * bullet point format.

- Complete List of professional bodybuilders - currently Category:Professional bodybuilders is a good place to start as I tried to be thorough when categorising this from the many geographical bodybuilder categories.
- Expand We need to build articles so they are Wikipedia:Featured article level. Our goal should to promptly built at least one bodybuilding article to featured article status (and no the Arnold article does not count!)

Adopt an article
[edit]- For an extensive list of articles pertaining to WP:WB see Wikipedia:WikiProject_Bodybuilding/Articles
Similar to the Collaboration of the week, but on a smaller scale, you might want to "adopt" an article. This would involve doing the research, writing, and picture-taking (if possible) for either a non-existent article or a stub. Of course, everyone else can still edit an adopted article, and you can work on other things too, but the idea is to find a focus for a while, to try and build up the number of quality articles the Project has produced.
