Move?

Shouldn't this be moved to Indian national football team? --Nucleusboy 17:54, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Your suggestion has grammatical sense, but all national football teams follow this convention. Kevin McE 12:04, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Recent records: SAFF Cup 2009 & Asian Challenge Cup 2010 performances should be removed

This article is about the Indian Senior Football team. India did not send the national team to SAFF Cup 2009 & Asian Challenge Cup 2010, instead choosing to send the Under-23 side. These two records should be removed from this article. Shovon (talk) 08:51, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Further to the previous post, these two should be moved to the appropriate article on the Under-23 Indian national football team. Shovon (talk) 10:30, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
The Indian national team in these events was represented by the U-23, but they were still representing India. Simple as, the stats should stay. If readers of the article want to find out more, then they view that tournament's article to find out. I personally wouldn't remove them, maybe put a note in the section explaining it was an age related team? Druryfire (talk) 12:14, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
Nothing personal in that. The matter of fact is that India DID field the Under-23 side and as such these matches were not considered by FIFA for calculating the ranking. So, these must go to the performance of the Under-23 team. I am not removing these simply because, I fear that I may botch up the tables. The AIFF site will also give you the insight that it was not the Indian team. The AIFF Shovon (talk) 18:49, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
Ok, I value your opinion Shovon. If you feel strongly about this, then i sugest that you remove the data and insert into the Under 23' page. I would also sugest that you mayeb just leave the 2009 and 2010 events as Did not enter. If readers of the article wish to know the reasons why, then they can simply open up the relevant page.Druryfire (talk) 19:43, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Team's jersey

@ArsenalFan700 and Drat8sub: The jersey needs to be updated. Reference – 𝙰𝚔𝚜𝚑𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚟™ 🗿 03:03, 8 October 2023 (UTC)

In the process. We, at the project, are facing lack of kit designer, earlier there were many, but most left. Though there are pattern designer in the project but since less, they have lot of works with various league and all, so for now a temporary jersey will be updated and the original pattern will take few more weeks to get updated, along with previous kit(digitised tiger face pattern) at the Wikimedia commons. India national football team → India men's national football team – Per WP:PRECISE, WP:RNEUTRAL, and WP:CONSISTENT.

Currently, there is one page called the India national football team and another called the India women's national football team. Either both teams have to be gendered or none. All the players on the men's team are men, like all players on the women's team are women. Therefore, the current article title lacks precision, neutrality, and consistency.

There is clear precedent for such article naming in the field hockey teams, one for the men's team and another for the women's team.

In light of the need for consistency with sporting team article titles (WP:CONSISTENT), precision (WP:PRECISE), and neutrality (WP:RNEUTRAL), I propose to move India national football team to India men's national football team. This move should probably be executed for all gendered sports teams, but the broader question might have to be addressed through CAT:WNCP and WP:NCST.
