Notability

[edit]

A "notability concern" was added without justification or argumentation, which I removed. The notability was and is still given in the original entry: "Inducks is the second largest freely available comics database". Herve661 —Preceding comment was added at 16:29, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Per Starbäck

[edit]

It says: "Per Starbäck (a professor of linguistics at Uppsala University in Uppsala, Sweden[3])"

Per is not a professor of linguistics, and the mentioned reference doesn't specify his position.

[1] states: "Det är jag som sköter GNU/Linux-datorerna som STP använder." This means that Per is responsible for the Linux computers used by a subset of the deparment of linguistics. This suggests that he's a computer system maintainer and not a linguist. (212.247.11.155 (talk) 10:54, 13 January 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Yep, I was wondering about that too, but I since I can't read Swedish... Anyway, I think I removed this info yesterday. Herve661 (talk) 12:56, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Licence

[edit]

Collectonian removed the link to the Inducks licence at the beginning of the article and replaced it with a link to "licence" in Wikipedia. I think the former is more useful to the reader who wants to know what kind of free licence this is (for Inducks, it's a "copy-left"), and generally knows what is a licence in general. Any other opinion? Herve661 (talk) 18:16, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It looks better to have references in the references section. Added a reference to the licence statement. (Stefan2 (talk) 18:46, 13 January 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Use of Inducks storycodes in printed publication

[edit]

I removed this information from the article because there is no clear proof of it (although it's well known in the "field"). If (supposedly) you own all Disney comic books, you would see that codes like "YM 001" (etc.) appeared recently (for instance in "Treasures of Walt Disney comics I - 75 years of innovation" or in WDC 671), while YM codes appeared in Inducks and on the web before (look eg here). But I agree it's hard to verify. Herve661 (talk) 15:47, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Some story codes inducks are just those that were originally used when the story was created i.e production codes such as those Danish one. 2011-139 for example but other as are just made up since there was no original production code such as for comic books and none comic matterial.

Article title

[edit]

Why is the title of this article "INDUCKS"? Usually it is written "I.N.D.U.C.K.S." or "Inducks". (130.237.223.41 (talk) 12:18, 25 March 2008 (UTC))[reply]

It was I.N.D.U.C.K.S., and because of some Wikipedia rule on acronyms was renamed INDUCKS. But if you want to use Inducks instead, that would not be any problem as far as I'm concerned. Herve661 (talk) 12:13, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
