I-Beam vs. the Straight Theater
[edit]The article as it now stands claims that the I-Beam and the Straight Theater were at the same address. Unless there was some earlier time when they were at the same location, that is inaccurate - the Straight was at 1702 Haight. http://cinematreasures.org/theater.php/1951/ --Larrybob (talk) 22:20, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
- You are correct. That was an error I made when I originally wrote the article in August 2006. Keraunos (talk) 02:27, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
- Added Meat Beat Manifesto as an act who played there. Saw them in 1990. 75.110.167.148 (talk) 03:02, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
- The article states The Cure NEVER played the I-Beam. The first show the Cure ever played in San Francisco was at the Kubuki. This is wrong, the Kubuki show was in 1983, they played at the I-Beam in 1981. Below is the link that shows the date and set list from that show. If you go the "The I-Beam" Facebook page you'll find post by people that were there that night. It was a last minute show with tickets going on sale that day.

Location
[edit]The I-Beam was a popular nightclub in San Francisco that was located in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood at 1748 Hiscotheque|disco]] (dance club).
In the first ¶ of the introductiion there appear to be words missing, perhaps "...at 1748 Haight Street disco..." While "disco" links internally as a type of music, "Discothèque" redirects to "Nightclub," but "Hiscotheque" is just nonsense. Dick Kimball (talk) 16:04, 28 September 2012 (UTC)
- Using another possible internal link in the inserted phrase, "...at 1748 Haight Street disco..." Dick Kimball (talk) 16:11, 28 September 2012 (UTC)
Noise
[edit]"...all the neighbors complained about the noise."
"...all the neighbors complained..." is mathematically impossible; "...most of the neighbors complained..." is bloody unlikely; "...a substantial number of neighbors complained..." is my suggestion. Dick Kimball (talk) 16:28, 28 September 2012 (UTC)
