Gamma's image
[edit]I've counted 3 people that have changed the image from Gamma with an eye-feature to Gamma without an eye-feature. An eye is usually a better representative of peak intensity; Gonzalo had an eye-feature at a point, so you'd use it for the main image, right? According to them, wrong. I strongly believe that that the image with Gamma's eye would be better than the image with Gamma lacking an eye. So are we keeping the eye image, or not? - My only issue with the current image is that it includes the borders of the countries, which is rather intrusive in appearance. If someone can remove this, I would be fine. Other than that, I do not have a personal preference. We just need an image that is balanced between being the closest to peak intensity and having high quality. @Hurricaneboy23: is the main one here, reverting the edits without glancing into the talk section. So please, why are you reverting the edit? There isn't a border anymore, and it has a clearer eye. I believe you were reverting the edit because of the borders, so now that there are no borders, you shouldn't be reverting the edits anymore. Hurricanehuron33 (talk) 12:38, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
Deaths
[edit]Hi: Were is the référence for this " Another cause for a death was not specified, bringing the total number of deaths to seven." The only reference in the text is for 6 deaths. Pierre cb (talk) 14:48, 31 October 2020 (UTC)

Looking at the edit history, it seems like we've had a bit of a problem with the moving of this article. Some have proposed Hurricane Gamma (2020) and others just Hurricane Gamma. This is the only HURRICANE Gamma, but Gamma was used in 2005 for Tropical Storm Gamma (2005), so... thoughts? ~ AC5230 talk 15:58, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
- Support Hurricane Gamma No point in naming it "Hurricane Gamma (2020)" if this is the only Hurricane Gamma. – 🌀HurricaneCovid🌀 (contribs) 16:03, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
- Hurricane Gamma Seeing as there is only one Hurricane Gamma. Similar situation with Hurricane Gonzalo. JayTee🐦 20:23, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
- Hurricane Gamma, as there is (and probably will be) only one. Additionally, as there is (and probably will be) only one Tropical Storm Gamma, perhaps the page Tropical Storm Gamma (2005) ought to be changed to Tropical Storm Gamma. Drdpw (talk) 20:38, 20 April 2021 (UTC)

Gummycow - Will review as soon as I can. First off, this article should be made C-class before it can be properly reviewed; LightandDark, let me know in your opinion if this can be made a C. Secondly, this article needs to have much more extensive coverage of Gamma; Gummycow, I will give you 10 days to do some research and expand the article. Please see Tropical Storm Hernan (2020) or Hurricane Bud (2018) to see the kind of more thorough info I'm looking for. Will check in on progress on June 12. JayTee🐦 22:40, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
- @JayTee32: Recommend immediate failure due to lack of Spanish sources and the brevity of the impact coverage. There are plenty of (Spanish) sources out there that provide detail of the impact. Five to six sources are not enough in the least. NoahTalk 23:39, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Hurricane Noah: I would agree, although I still want to see Gummycow's comment on this so that he knows what to do before re-nomination. JayTee🐦 00:15, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, this was my first GA, and I was relatively unprepared. I agree with Hurricane Noah that this should be called off for now.Gummycow moomilk 00:25, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Gummycow: You just need to work to find Spanish refs. NoahTalk 00:30, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
- It'll take a long time for me to do, unfortunately, so I think we should at least delay it.Gummycow moomilk 00:37, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

@JayTee32: Articles should at least be a high-tier B-Class article before they can be considered for a GAN review. Unless this article can be quickly brought up to GA standards within 2 weeks (which would likely require a coordinate effort by multiple experienced editors), I believe that this GAN should be failed. However, if the nominator is willing and able to undertake a campaign to bring this article up to GA level, then this GAN can be placed on hold, but as this article is now, a GAN would not be an easy one, in my opinion. This article might still be a Start-Class article, though, in terms of quality, and nominating a C-Class article for a GAN is definitely out of the question, unless the nominator is able to undertake a large amount of revisions. LightandDark2000 🌀 (talk) 13:54, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
- Agreed, I'm failing the article. Please don't be discouraged Gummycow, I'd strongly suggest you spend some time looking up Spanish sources (tormenta tropical gamma on Google, or along those lines) and work on improving the article. Once it has enough info in the Prep and Impacts (again, check out the length of some of Noah and LND's GAs) we can take another look at this and see if it meets C- or B-class and then work it up to GA from there.
