[edit]I think it should remain Flossie (2007) unless a direct hit is expected with at least the eyewall crossing at least one of the islands (not in the forecast at this point, but in the cone of uncertainty). Should a direct hit come into play, it should be moved to Hurricane Flossie. CrazyC83 15:09, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- NO. Standard Wikipedia and Wikiproject naming guidelines should stay in place. Flossie is a reusable name and does not deserve the main article. – Chacor 15:22, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- Chacor is right. It should only get the main article once retired. Of course, if it strikes the islands directly, the odds of it not being retired are pretty much nil. I would, however, be okay with redirecting Hurricane Flossie here if the storm does have a severe impact as none of the other Hurricane Flossies did much. —Cuiviénen 15:31, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- I guess the policy changed since 2005...I just think it should be clarified now to make sure that no one does an unnecessary move. I like the redirect of the main article idea if it is likely going to be retired... CrazyC83 15:35, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- Unless it causes several billion in damage (which the 2005 storms did when they got the main article, and for the record I really hope it does not), I think it should stay at Flossie (2007), with the main article remaining where it is. Hurricanehink (talk) 16:36, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Incomplete
[edit]The MH is incomplete. I'd lower it to stub, but it's well-cited and there's a good bit of impact. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 01:59, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

- "Hurricane Flossie brought squally weather and minimal damage to the Hawaiian Islands during August 2007" can you find something more intresting than this? Don't tell me that every EPAC article has this opener, because they don't. YE Pacific Hurricane
- It's fine as is. TropicalAnalystwx13 (talk) 23:18, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- " After traversing the tropical Atlantic, the wave crossed Central America and entered the eastern Pacific on August 1." how is this important for the lead? YE Pacific Hurricane 23:07, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- Uhm...because it tells you what happened to the wave between the time it departed Africa and developed into a tropical depression in the eastern Pacific? It didn't magically poof from one basin to the other lol. TropicalAnalystwx13 (talk) 23:18, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- You should mention it was slow to weaken at first, then mention the date its weakening accelerated. YE Pacific Hurricane 23:07, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- I'm sure that's concluded from reading the MH. TropicalAnalystwx13 (talk) 23:18, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- Add more impact and preps to the lead. YE Pacific Hurricane 23:07, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- Why don't you use the TWO archives for the origins? YE Pacific Hurricane 23:07, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- Why is it needed? The characteristics of the wave are already mentioned in the lede (poorly-defined) and we already know it moved off the coast of Africa and crossed Central America.
- Give a distance from BCS or Hawaii somewhere in the MH. YE Pacific Hurricane 23:07, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- ??? "At this time, the depression was situated roughly 1,700 mi (2,700 km) east-southeast of the Big Island of Hawaii." TropicalAnalystwx13 (talk) 23:18, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- "ensued as the storm entered the Central Pacific Hurricane Center's area of responsibility that morning" wikilink to CPHC and mention it corssed 140W as well. YE Pacific Hurricane 23:07, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- Linked CPHC and AOR. TropicalAnalystwx13 (talk) 23:20, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- "remained a Category 4 hurricane by 36 continuous hours.[1]" to "remained a Category 4 hurricane for 36 hours" . YE Pacific Hurricane
- "Heavy rainfall and flooding were expected to be the primary concern; as such, flash flood watches were issued and " wikilink to flash flood. YE Pacific Hurricane 23:07, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- " forcing a n estimated 26,000 college students to remain home." space issue here. YE Pacific Hurricane 23:07, 28 April 2013 (UTC)

- "The most significant waves were estimated at 20 feet (6.1 m) in height, while sustained winds of at least 39 miles per hour (63 km/h) were reported at South Point. " same here. YE Pacific Hurricane 23:07, 28 April 2013 (UTC)

- here may have some stuff as well. I'd mention Erick also passed south of the island in the start of the month. YE Pacific Hurricane 23:07, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
