Can we get some other religions listed here? -That makes sense — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.48.165.249 (talk) 01:14, 23 October 2012 (UTC)
--I agree. This would make both pages more specific. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.97.58.156 (talk) 01:35, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
- I added a Buddhism section as I know a bit about it but yeah this article still feels a little bare, could do with more religions being included.86.184.166.26 (talk) 01:23, 15 March 2014 (UTC)
10th century BCE
[edit]Can we add a scholarly reference for this. I am sure someone has a reference because so many books have been written on this subject. The current ref does not mention it. Not to mention it is not a R.S for this kind of statement. I am not sure but the date seems a little too Early to be valid. --Inayity (talk) 19:45, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
Merging opinion
[edit]I think the list of religious sites is more of a focus on the place a religion is practiced and the holy places article has sites that a religion may value, require pilgrimage to, or are said by their religious text to be sacred. Dhov1901 (talk) 05:11, 04 December 2015 (UTC)

Holy places → Holy place – Singular seems more comme-il-faut, doesn't it? PPEMES (talk) 11:58, 30 March 2019 (UTC) --Relisting. -- Dane talk 23:09, 7 April 2019 (UTC)
- Support this move 2601:541:4500:1760:7093:67E8:7C0B:3EFC (talk) 14:55, 31 March 2019 (UTC)
- Normally I would be inclined to agree, but this is less an article on the concept of a holy place and more a collection of lists of holy places. — AjaxSmack 21:50, 7 April 2019 (UTC)
- Support per WP:SINGULAR. No evidence per Ngrams that the plural has any predominant use. Its got a good deal more prose than a standard list article, and at any case tht'd be placed at List of holy places. -- Netoholic @ 23:31, 7 April 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose. Per WP:SINGULAR — falls under category of "classes of objects." --Comment by Selfie City (talk about my contributions) 01:47, 8 April 2019 (UTC)
- Support. This article title does not seem to fall under any of the exceptions to our default use of singular titles listed at WP:PLURAL. This subject exists perfectly naturally as a singular title and I see no reason to break with our normal policies here. Rreagan007 (talk) 22:06, 12 April 2019 (UTC)
- Support Holy place or List of holy places. It's too broad and vaguely defined to be considered a class eligible for a plural title under WP:SINGULAR, IMO. That said, it currently functions more like a list so I wouldn't mind a rename to reflect that reality. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 02:24, 16 April 2019 (UTC)

Merged to List_of_religious_sites
[edit]Merged content of page into List_of_religious_sites as the two pages substantially overlapped in content and focus. Darker Dreams (talk) 02:37, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
