Twitter controversy

[edit]

As per WP:RECENTISM, I've deleted the recent additions regarding Wheeler's current Twitter controversy: while it is currently in the media, it may, in a few weeks, fade into the background again. I think it's best left here on the talk page until the dust settles. ~dom Kaos~ (talk) 17:57, 23 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

In August 2016, following the 2016 Rio Olympics, the EU shared a modified medals table showing its combined member states in first place. In a response that was widely criticised, and which she later defended as a "tongue-in-cheek pop", Wheeler then tweeted a map of former imperial territories and claimed that the British Empire had won the 2016 Rio Olympics.[1][2]
