Add Tempo as being a new single released to urban contemporary radio.[1] 2604:2000:D05A:CC00:EC0F:E4C8:9795:937A (talk) 05:12, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. It's not clear form the source given that "Tempo" is a "single" from this album in any sort of traditional sense of that word and all the tracks have already been release, making any song post 10/31/17 a dubious single. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 18:04, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Have you never been on an album page or know what a single is? This is a reliable source with a release date which has been used for many singles from MANY albums so please add the single. --2604:2000:D05A:CC00:55A6:394D:DA95:697F (talk) 03:59, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Added, it is a reliable source from what I've seen as it has been used on various other album pages like Damn for single confirmation. --Ragref (talk) 07:18, 1 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Poor reception section caused by a vandal.

[edit]

Hi, I’m aardwolf68, and I noticed a long running edit made by a vandal using nonexistent sources, YouTube videos, and other websites without a review from said website, because they don’t exist. I don’t know nothing was done about this before I removed it all, but that’s besides the point. I’m not good at sourcing on Wikipedia, I know of its extremely valuable purpose, but I don’t know how to do it properly. If somebody could please go back to the non-vandalized versions of the previous editions of this page and source the REAL sources correctly, I would greatly appreciate it. Aardwolf68 (talk) 20:37, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I Need Help

[edit]

How am I expected to wait for a talk page consensus to get rid of vandalized information if nobody's responding, and then I'm accused of vandalization when I take action when nobody else will? Can somebody please explain to me what I'm supposed to do?

I'll even go through everything that's wrong with the page that I see.

The Driftwood source doesn't even exist, it links to a broken page for miscellaneous stuff. https://unodriftwood.com/2201/entertainment/heartbreak-on-a-full-moon-exceeds-expectation/

The Complex source links to a YouTube video, which aren't usually considered reliable sources, and as far as I'm concerened, Joe Budden doesn't even give a score in said review.

The Hip-Hop DX section of the critical reception section describes the album in a more positive light despite the review being incredibly mixed.

The Vulture source doesn't give a score. despite the infobox saying otherwise. https://www.vulture.com/2017/11/review-chris-brown-heartbreak-on-a-full-moon.html

Rolling Stone's source links to the home page, not a review. If you look up "Rolling Stone Heartbreak on a Full Moon" nothing resembling a review is shown. https://www.rollingstone.com/

The Boombox Source doesn't list a score, despite the infobox saying otherwise. https://theboombox.com/chris-browns-heartbreak-on-a-full-moon-ambitious-audacious/

The Register-Guard link is dead.

Vice links to the website, and the same example that I gave for Rolling Stone applies here. https://www.vice.com/en

The "Legacy" section has a lot of issues as well

It claims that album inspired other artists to make longer albums, and while I can't view the Rolling Stone source because I'm not a subscriber, the bussinessinsider source only mentions Heartbreak on a Full Moon in passing, nothing more. https://www.businessinsider.com/drake-streaming-spotify-scorpion-apple-music-hip-hop-2018-8

The Complex section of the Legacy section claims that the author said that Heartbreak on a Full Moon was a masterpiece, the word masterpiece is never said and the entire article is a negative opinion about how long albums are. The Pitchfork sentence is completely made up, not once does the Pitchfork source name Chris Brown or the album in question.

Lastly, where it supposedly lists influences that the album made, none of the sources list this. The only source that comes close is where T-Pain says it's his favorite album. However, it's also a YouTube video, which, again, aren't usually reliable sources. The second source is a 40+ minute interview on the Breakfast Club, and i don't think I need to explain why this isn't reliable. The final source is just a video of Billie Eilish listening to a Chris Brown song, how does this prove that he's an influence?

So, yeah, there's a lot of obvious issues here, and hopefully somebody will listen. Thank you. Aardwolf68 (talk) 21:13, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Blanking

[edit]

I noticed someone removed a lot of things from the page without any valuable reason. All the content was sourced very well. Like the fact that he build a home studio to record song from the album, that was sourced, and many many others. I'm not an editor, I'm simply a reader, and as such I noted how this article got a massive delete of good content, and that's pretty bad, because it was interesting and there is no reason for it to not be here — Preceding unsigned comment added by Seign eru (talkcontribs) 11:26, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately there has been persistant disruptive editing and vandalism on this article where large sections of sourced content are being removed. I attemped to revert the disruptive editing myself and got falsely accused of being a sockpuppet of a banned user.Instantwatym (talk) 14:00, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I was actually going to open a new discussion on discussion on vandalism, cherrypicking and editorial bias on this article but I forgot I already responded to the blanking in the past and still no justification has been provided for the blanking and it continues to occur without reproach. In due time, I will revert this article to its prior state before the vandlism occured. Instantwatym (talk) 21:33, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Per the policy on block evasion and the policy on ban evasion, any edit made by a sockpuppet of the previously blocked and banned editor User:Giubbotto non ortodosso can be reverted on sight with no further explanation required. Possible neutrality issues

[edit]

While I have not read this article in full, I have seen several people question the neutrality of this article, saying that it reads like it was written by stans. The bit at the end of the songs section "After all the details of what's been on his feelings and what he's done after his breakup, on the last track, "Yellow Tape", he reflects on how he can't handle no more his pain, and how he's tired of his excessive lifestyle full of fake emotions that can't numb his heartbreak, ending up killing himself." was given as an example by one (while this is a quote from a source, I don’t think it needs to be).

Of note to me is the critical reception section, which consists entirely of positive quotes from reviews. It being wholly quotes is odd enough, but it being only positive is really odd seeing how according to Rate Your Music it’s the worst album of all time (by an actually relevant artist at least). Of course, RYM isn’t a perfect indicator, here you almost certainly have people rating it low because it’s a 40+ track Chris Brown album, among the site’s other flaws, but this is too big of a gap. There has to be some negativity in the already used reviews, or a negative review from one reliable source or another. MRN2electricboogaloo (talk) 00:23, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, your first sentence says it all. You didn't even read the article and you question its neutrality. That might be enough to prove my point. But I'll continue.
The song "Yellow Tape" is exactly about what the article says, read the lyrics of the song on Google. It's the final ending to the storyline of this 40 track album, and you think that it should not be cited on the article's song section about its storyline. Really?
The critical reception of every album on wiki is made by critics' quotes, what are you talking about? You are citing RateYourMusic to prove your point (while acknowledging at the same time its unreliability) because some users of that site hated the album, while also telling a lie, it is not the worst album of all time according to the site's user reviews. You're begging for negativity to be added on this article based on literally no reliable sources or solid points whatsoever, admitting that you didn't even read the article, and making claims out of sources that you even acknowledge that are unreliable.--Jesten Ruler (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 11:20, 19 August 2022 (UTC) [reply]
The "Reviews" section was full of fabricated reviews that failed verification. The fabricated reviews were added by sockpuppets of the previously blocked and banned account Giubbotto non ortodosso (talk · contribs); see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Giubbotto non ortodosso for more information. I have removed the fabricated reviews per the verifiability policy, the policy on block evasion, and the policy on ban evasion. There is additional content in this article that fails verification; please help remove any content that is not supported by reliable sources, whether it is because the source is not reliable, or because the content is not supported by the cited source. — Newslinger talk 12:01, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Fabricated claims about the album and its songs being dedicated to an ex-girlfriend

[edit]

The article currently includes the following fabricated/ficitious claims that the album is inspired by Browns ex girlfriend Tran and that certain songs are dedicated to her:

- Lead: “Its lyrics are thought to have been inspired by Brown's breakup with Karrueche Tran.”- This isn't supported by any reference, neither in the lead nor the rest of the article

- Background and recoding: “The album was inspired by the singer's breakup with actress Karrueche Tran in March 2015, after he had a daughter, Royalty, with another woman. Brown had dedicated his seventh studio album Royalty to his daughter, and decided that the next album would be about his breakup with Tran.” - The following source is provided as proof of these claims. However the source does not mention Tran as a source of inspiration for the album, nor does it mention this album at all.

- Songs: “On the hip hop-influenced songs "Everybody Knows" and "Hurt the Same", the singer “[mixes] venom with vulnerability”, accusing the woman he loved of being insensitive and ungrateful, making straightforward references to his relationship with Tran.” - The following sourceis provided as proof of these claims. However the source does mention Tran as a source of inspiration for these songs or their lyrical content. Its pure fabrication.

Unsourced and fabricated content should be removed from any and all Wikipedia article and anyone restoring it or insisting on its inclusion is bordering on vandalism and disruptive editing. Another issue is that most of the fabricated claims is this article were originally added to the article by sockpuppets of the previously blocked and banned account Giubbotto non ortodosso (talk · contribs); and are perodically restored by new sockpuppets. This has been ongoing issue on this album article, along with other articles of this artists. Instantwatym (talk) 18:27, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed all the aforementioned fabricated claims per my last edit on the article, based on the justification provided above. Instantwatym (talk) 19:01, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
