Image copyright problem with Image:TubeMapZ1 TFL.png
[edit]The image Image:TubeMapZ1 TFL.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

It would make much more sense to use one of the many diagrams actually drawn by Beck rather than an extract of the modern one surely?--Mapmark (talk) 10:19, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
Why not use an image of Becks original map - there is one at http://britton.disted.camosun.bc.ca/beck_map.jpg but don't know about copyright status for it.
The article says it was based on electrical schematic designs but http://www.vam.ac.uk/vastatic/microsites/1331_modernism/highlights_19.html disputes this saying "Although often assumed to be based on electrical circuit diagrams, his ‘geoschematic’ map was apparently modelled on sewer mapping." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.193.198.230 (talk) 08:18, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Transport for London do not claim copyright for the tube map in any place where it is published (either as wall posters or 'give away' pocket maps.) This makes sense because London Transport used the map for years even though they had no claim to the copyright (If the copyright belonged to anyone, it was to Harry Beck as he did not conceive it in London Transport's time). Henry Beck was also a map designer for the Island of Sodor Gamer3677 (talk) 16:52, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
- I think not. Do you have any source for that claim? Martinevans123 (talk) 17:08, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
Harry and Henry
[edit]Can the Henry or Harry be changed to Harry/Henry. e.g. Henry Charles Beck would Become Harry/Henry Charles Beck. Please voice your opinions. I Like The british Rail Class 483 (talk) 16:37, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- Not sure what you're suggesting here. His birth name was Henry (see e.g. FreeBMD). The name he was known by was Harry. Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex is a similar case. Except he's a prince, of course. Martinevans123 (talk) 09:00, 6 October 2021 (UTC)
The map after Beck
[edit]This section begins "Beck tried to regain control of the map through threatening legal action...". But nowhere in the article is it mentioned how or when he lost control of the map. 147.147.106.178 (talk) 21:48, 6 September 2024 (UTC)
