Incomplete discography

[edit]

I don't know how to edit wikipedia so I won't do this, but this discography is extremely incomplete. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.87.169.48 (talk) 20:01, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's still extremely incomplete in 2020. I don't understand what's the point of the article if we can't fix it in 7 years. It doesn't even have his pre-2005 stuff. 142.118.116.246 (talk) 00:54, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Digital Albums

[edit]

The Digital Albums section has been added to fix complaints about the confusion between what's considered an album and what's considered a mixtape. A Digital Album is released to ZERO free download sites, and is only available through Digital Retailers like iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, etc. I'll be in the process of updating the Digital Albums for entries that were counted as mixtapes in the past. Just because something is released to a Digital Retailer doesn't make it a Digital Album, it must be released to Digital Retailers exclusively.

Please do not delete this section without stating your claim here first and gaining approval.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Funkatastic (talkcontribs) 23:14, November 28, 2014‎}

Digital albums

[edit]

There is currently a discussion taking place at Talk:Young Thug discography as to whether the "digital albums" subheading is appropriate, or if it should be merged into albums/mixtapes. Any comments are appreciated. Azealia911 talk 16:25, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 4 external links on Gucci Mane discography. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Curve is a promotional single

[edit]

It was released in conjunction with the album's pre-order but was never sent to radio nor promoted as a single like "I Get the Bag" was. Ss112 you undo my edits talking about how Rap Favorites isn't reliable yet Fader is just because it's been around longer...? I'm not sure how many times I have to explain how these little rap bloggers do not have more credibility than official radio websites, impact dates and promotional newsletters. They call literally every song released from an album a "single" unless the artist or their team explicitly state otherwise. BlaccCrab (talk) 05:39, 16 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Content Disputes

[edit]

@Ss112 and BlaccCrab. You guys both need to work these issues out here on the talk page. If you are having trouble getting to a consensus then try posting a request for comment on relevant wiki-projects like WT:WPMU. If all else fails request mediation or post an actual WP:RFC. Please see also WP:DR for more suggestions. In the meantime the general rule is that if added material is challenged by reversion, normally it should not be re-added w/o some sort of consensus. You are both experienced editors and I have great confidence that you can resolve this w/o getting testy or requiring an admin to step in. Thanks. -Ad Orientem (talk) 03:04, 18 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I would have thought this would not require an admin to step in either; however, a further revert today made me think otherwise. I think BlaccCrab should ask other editors by pinging if he wants more input to make the change (WP:CONSENSUS). Ss112 03:06, 18 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
As you both can see, i already brought it up. It's literally the latest post on this page. Anyways, Billboard states "I Get the Bag was released as a promotional single in August and The Weeknd featuring Curve followed in September" [1] I Get the Bag got sent to radio the same week Curve was released as an instant grat track. I don't know why everyone insists on every song being released from an album being automatically considered a single when it was never serviced to radio or released individually before the pre-order. El Gato, Mixtape?

[edit]

Gucci didn't put out singles to radio, there's no physicals like with Mr. Davis and Evil Genius. Also several sources called it a mixtape (commercial) upon its release. And most importantly...it's on DatPiff for free, like any mixtape.[1]
