A fact from Green Leader appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 22 March 2021 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that the Rhodesian Air Force's Green Leader once threatened to shoot down any Zambian Air Force planes that interfered with Operation Gatling after taking control of Zambian airspace?
Why does this page redirect to a list of Star Wars characters? On the Start Wars characters page, there is no "Green Leader" Kmasters0 (talk) 12:59, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

... that the Rhodesian Air Force's (flag pictured)Green Leader told Zambia that they were taking control of Zambian airspace on an air raid and threatened to shoot down any Zambian Air Force planes that interfered? Source: The Guardian
This is only a comment and not a review (I will leave the full review to another editor), but the current hook is too long as it is 214 characters long including "(flag pictured)" and 198 characters without (I am citing WP:DYKHOOK which states that hooks slightly shorter than 200 characters may still be rejected). Overall: New enough, long enough, sourced enough, neutral enough, does not trigger anything on Earwig's checker, hook is cited and interesting, pic is free, QPQ was done. The above hook issues may give pause, would like to see an alternate hook, but this is not a total dealbreaker. jp×g19:15, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
ALT1...that the Rhodesian Air Force's (flag pictured)Green Leader once threatened to shoot down any Zambian Air Force planes that interfered with Operation Gatling after taking control of Zambian airspace?
Why is the title of this page his nickname, when at least all of the sources for the page I was able to check refer to the subject primarily (unsurprisingly) by his given name? Are there any sources which primarily refer to him only as 'Green Leader', instead of just acknowledging that it was his callsign? Parabolist (talk) 01:03, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
