Gianna Terzi → Yianna Terzi – Seeking to revert an undiscussed move from a few years back. Nearly all recent sources, including the subject's official social media accounts, use the "Yianna" spelling. [1][2][3]. Appears to have been a time around 2018 when both spellings were used almost interchangeably, however, I believe the "Yianna" spelling has reached near universal use nowadays. Support per WP:COMMONNAME. Apparently the previous mover has thought that the move is non-controversial, but while I personally prefer Gianna over Yianna, (since in the English Wikipedia the english versions of Greek names should be preferred), I can't argue against the evident prevailing of the name Yianna. It would depend when the sources were published though. If, as Grk1011 points out, most recent sources refer to the "Yianna" spelling then that should be what we should be going with, and not necessarily what was predominantly used two or three years ago, correct? All the English-language sources cited in the article give the name as "Gianna". If you can replace those with other reliable sources that use the spelling that you want, you'll have a stronger case. Otherwise it's WP:OR I'm afraid. Dr. Vogel (talk) 14:21, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Given that I've provided relevant English language social media and corporate uses of the Yianna spelling in this request, I would say there is no OR to any extent here. I took another look at the article and there were only two uses of "Gianna" in the refs, with the other three being transliterations of Greek titles (which I've replaced with their proper Greek text). I've also now added 'competing' refs from the same sources using the Yianna spelling to I guess help show that there was the period where both were used? This all feels very roundabout, because the reliable sources while split for a time, have overwhelmingly shifted to solely the Yianna spelling. Grk1011 (talk) 15:27, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
