Ethnic Germans → German diaspora – This article is apparently about Germans living abroad and not people of German ethnicity. Naming this article "German diaspora" would be consistent with similliar articles on wikipedia like Japanese diaspora, Russian diaspora etc... Krakkos (talk) 21:08, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
- Support: I agree with you. The article talks about the Germans living abroad. Maurice07 (talk) 17:00, 8 March 2014 (UTC)
- Seems legit. Red Slash 01:08, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
- If it's really true that this article excludes people living in Germany (I did not draw that conclusion from reading the text), then I would support this move. I also don't pick up from the article that it is not about "people of German ethnicity." Finally, Japanese diaspora ended up at that title only after a quite extensive discussion of the article's proper scope (see Talk:Japanese diaspora); but perhaps that is actually evidence of the strength of this sort of naming. In contrast, Ethnic Chinese is a dab page because the term refers both to people living in China and to Overseas Chinese. This is another option. Dekimasuよ! 23:23, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
- Support: "Ethnic Germans" is equivalent to the idea of "Germans" as an ethnicity (for which there is already an article), not merely Germans outside of Germany. For that concept, German diaspora is perfectly appropriate and in keeping with similar articles. Morgan Riley (talk) 16:28, 21 March 2014 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
Orphaned references in German diaspora
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of German diaspora's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Germans in Latin America
[edit]2,000,000 are less than 2% of mexican population not 3,5% so I edited that. Please check the numbers of German descent in Colombia, Guatemala and Venezuela, in the case of Venezuela and Guatemala the citations only talk about German inmigration to those countries nothing about descent, and in the case of Colombia says nothing about German descent and german inmigration to Colombia, thanks.Ignn (talk) 19:06, 6 November 2015 (UTC)
- Nicaragua is the same case, [2] only talk about immigrations, and Costa Rica only information of bilateral relations, [3]. Accordign to these image: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:German_ancestry_by_country.png, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Nicaragua are the only Central American countries with more than 100,000 german origin people (mostly partial). --186.151.116.171 (talk) 23:54, 19 March 2016 (UTC)
