This article is written in Sri Lankan English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, realise, travelled) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.

Upcountry

@Alyo: upcountry was bold due to a redirect from Upcountry (Sri Lanka) exist per MOS:BOLDREDIRECT. Викидим (talk) 19:20, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Викидим, I did see that, as I came here from following the Upcountry disambiguation page. The issue is that relative to the overall topic "Geography of Sri Lanka", the specific reference to uncountry is not particularly important, and in fact was the only bold in the whole paragraph. If there was a section of the article about the upcountry, I would support it being bolded there, but not in the lede when it creates a false sense of importance about that term.
