Why must people insist on reverting the old version when I edit the cast list to list Michelle Tanner as the single name Mary Kate Ashley Olsen? This is how the Olsen twins were officially credited on TV.

This was my comment before I was a registered user. I have now withdrawn my comments for now. —Mr. Grinch 14:56, 20 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Could someone please create the articles about the characters from this show? The cast list looks like a lot of red, and I'm not sure I like it. — [[User:33451|Mr. Grinch (Talk)]] 14:56, 13 Aug 2004 (UTC)

I did some minor editing to the links section: I moved the official site to the bottom, because despite the fact that it IS the official site, it's sorta obvious they just made it and left it and would not be the best place to find info about the show. They haven't updated for years. I also moved TV.com to second-to-bottom because the TV.com template limits some content such as downloads of songs, etc.

I moved the official page back to the top. It may not be updated at all, but it's generally Wikipedia style to keep official pages at the top. Also, I removed links to the two forums, because links to the websites are already present, and it's redundant to include the forum links as well. ral315 15:22, August 30, 2005 (UTC)

I moved links...again. I moved Full House Aloha lower than the official page, and added howrude.org.

Changed howrude.thatsanderskid.com to howrude.org, because of hosting problems I think it'd be easier to list that instead of editing it everytime a new host is found. -corndogs211

Books

There were some books based on the FH episodes written. Is anybody able to collect the titles and write something about it ? (Annamaria95 15:48, 23 April 2006 (UTC))

Quoting Uncle Joey

He's not Uncle Joey; Joey is Danny's BFF, not his brother.

A: There's always a 'chance'. Don't quote me on this, but it would be difficult to try and re-negotiate with the producers, actors and the studio. So I feel strongly that it would never happen.

Way to quote him there, f****ts. What do you think don't quote me means? --Boycottthecaf 21:16, 17 August 2005 (UTC)

Okayyy... I think he said it figuratively and didn't really mean it word for word. We could ask if he ever visited this article (as if), I also censored some of the stuff you had up... Badlands17 21 August 2005

Reunion?

The article states about "another reunion episode". Isn't this kind of misleading considering that there wasn't one reunion episode? Flyerhell 07:05, 5 December 2005 (UTC)

Their address and phone number do not belong in the synopsis

I agree, on first look, that their phone number and adress is really unnecessary. Who really cares? Does that have anything to do with the plot of the show? However, these small extra tidbits of info really aren't hurting anything...

Cancellation

It has not been mentioned how Full House was cancelled.

What do you mean how it was cancelled? Is there a story behind it or the show just went off the air? Flyerhell 19:26, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

Yes its cancelled

Can you cite a source to back up your claim? If not then it won't be mentioned.

From the E! True Hollywood Story on Full House, Mary Murphy (Senior Writer from TV Guide) says : "In the end, the reason Full House was canceled was that too much money was being spent, 1.3 million an episode, and so much money on performers that had been there for 8 years..."

And John Stamos says "The show kinda got prematurely canceled...'"[1] --Weakmassive 06:16, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Do any of the three Tanner girls ever say "ain't" on this show? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.202.26.44 (talkcontribs) .

Please rember that this was made in the late 80's, early 90's and they didn't have the word "ain't". --GeorgeMoney T·C 22:49, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

Villian

Who's the villian of this show? Is it Stephanie?

  • Kimmy Gibbler is.
I know, I know! Comet the dog. TripleH1976 11:50 a.m., 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I really doubt there's a villian on this show. -corndogs211

It should be more like a person who just annoyes people. In the First Season, it's michelle. In the second season, its still Michelle. Also, Becky and Jesse's relationship can also be stated as a "Villian". Yeah, Kimmy Gibbler is probably 100% the villian. Uncle Jesse probably thinks Comet is a villian, as Comet likes his bed so much. --haha169 18:39, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

There really isn't a villian, but there are something like antagonists in separate episodes when something gets ruined. As in one episode (sorry don't know the title) Nicky and Alex destroy Michelle's diorama, so they would be the "villians". Or would it be the parents? Mooski Magnus 02:38, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

That's just it - not every show has to have a villain.
The conflicts possible are man vs. man, nature, himself, or God. (My former teacher would be proud :-) In a sitcom, the emphasis is on man vs. man situations - at times there are different situations which need resolved, but as Mooski Magnus notes, it's more like a different antagonist in each episode. The nature depends on the situation. And, "comedy" sort of denotes that it's going to be light, meaning, it's unlikely you could see a true "villain" in a family sitcom. Even a schoolyard bully in some others is more an antagonist, unless they're in like every episode.

Goofs

In the goofs section it says that Wrestlemania has never been hosted in Pittsburgh when I clearly remember it being there a couple years ago. I would put it on there but I forget what year it was exactly. WrestleMania was never in Pittsburgh. Vince would never go to a pathetic place like Pittsburgh for WrestleMania. By the way PITTSBURGH SUCKS AND SO DO THE STEELERS.TG 50 14:29, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

stupid

Yeah. What does that have to do with the article?

WAVY 10 00:05, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

That's not a goof, anyway, becasue "Full House," like other TV shows, exists in a universe not quite like our own, becasue there is a family that doesn't exist in our own. As long as things are grossly out of line (The Chicago Cubs winning the World Series, for instance - unless it's a show about alternate universes or there is some specific reason given like a character impacting that) it should be accepted as canon for that universe. And, there is *no* valid reason why, in some similar but parallel universe, there could *not* have been a WWF event in Pittsburgh on that date.

Reunion

Leaked internal notices from ABC reveal a reunion movie is scheduled for the Fall of 2007. All stars will be returning except for the Olsen twins, who sources say have demanded too much money to do the 2 hour dramedy reunion special.

Vandalism

Why is everything pertaining to this show (and especially Bob Saget's character) getting the snot vandalized out of it? I had to get the Danny Tanner page semi-protected last month and I'm beginning to think that we may need to do so with this page.

I also recommend banning those (temporarily) who tried to slam this page with a bunch of crud.

Yeah, what's with the whole "Danny the Fanny" and "Bob the Faggot Saget" stuff?

WAVY 10 14:29, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Criticism

Shouldn't there be a "Criticism" section? I'm sure "Full House" has had its share of criticism due to many people thinking that it isn't "real enough".

Probably, but first we need to address the incessant vandalism. WAVY 10 14:30, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
Plus such a section would be a original research and vandalism magnet. PMA 11:26, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
The problem with criticism of this show is that much of it, if looked at one way, is wrong but loooked at another way, is not. Same with goofs. Unless one phrases it just right - i.e.: "No specifics were ever given as to how Jesse Katsopolis faked his graduation - it will lead to big arguments. Yes, they did a retcon and said that Jesse dropped out. But, Jesse is the only person who ever talked about it, so he *could*have*lied*. It's just that nobody ever thinks about that. So, by saying, "Jesse first graduated, then he dropped out," someone else will be able to come right back and said, "No, he lied about graduating, his visit back to the school was a ploy, etc.."
See what I mean? I think the best way to say it with cricisms and goofs like that is that there were a variety of retcons that could be viewed in one of several ways," or "The number of retcons require very creative thinking to explain." or, "When taken literally, some things appear to be goofs that weren't if looked at in antoher way." But, I don't know how to get more specific than that, and I don't know exactly how to phrase it so it makes sense for an encyclopedia. We frankly don't know what the writers were thinking, but they 8could* have decided, when doing the retcon, that it was plausible that Jesse *lied*.
Which is why a bunch of fans got together and produced something that explained all that in the first place.

"Funnyish"

Not a word befitting an encyclopedia. Please remove all instances.

Disney Channel appearances...

About this statement...

Members of the Full House cast have appeared on Disney Channel shows four times:
  • Candace Cameron in That's So Raven as Courtney Dearborn; credited as Candace Cameron Bure.
(Episode: Teacher's Pet)
  • Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen in Sister, Sister as themselves. (Episode: Slime Party)
  • Dave Coulier in The Thirteenth Year as Whit Griffin.
  • Dave Coulier in The Even Stevens Movie as the host of Gotcha!, Lance LeBow.

I don't think the Sister, Sister one counts since the show was airing on the WB at the time, and only airs in reruns on Disney Channel. The way this is written implies that this show was one that originated on the channel. WAVY 10 12:45, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

Recurring theme - growing up

I don't know if it was there but then removed because of the vandalism, but I found it stunning that this was not mentioned. It is one of the few shows to have the children act like children, and not adults, on a consistent basis, though others have done so a little. If marriage is only mentioned a few times and is listed at a recurring theme, then this should be, also.

I hope it looks good the way I did it - the first paragraph admittedly is more certain to fit there than my second, dealing with one episode, but I think that episode is important in that the childrens' reactions to the first date are quite relevant and would be glossed over on some shows. Hey, as noted in paragraph 3, this is one of the few shows ever to note that the deceased mother even existed. I think, though I'm not sure of this, there are more mentions of the deceased mother here than in every other show with a widower *combined*. (Andy Griffith, My Three Sons, Diff'rent Strokes, etc.)

Agreed, but I would qualify that part of the first paragraph as such: "It is one of the few shows (in more recent years)to have the children act like children, and not adults, on a consistent basis..."

Just a comment. WAVY 10 14:44, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Multiple airings per week during original run

Sometime around 1989, ABC did a thing that NBC also did with Quantum Leap around that time, running the episodes on at least two different nights to build up the audience. I don't have a cite to prove it, though, relying instead on my distinct memory of their doing this, because that's how I ended up watching both shows in college. Anyone have a cite for this? Redundancy in first paragraph

I was about to change one of the lines that listed the airing dates in the first paragraph, as this is listed twice, but noticed that each link goes to a different article. Oh my God a catchphrase?

It is wrong for Oh my God to be considered Danny's catchphrase. Not only did the other characters use the phrase "Oh my God", but half of the English speaking world also use Oh My God regularly. It's like calling "How are you?" or "I'm Hungry" a catchphrase. A catchphrase is one that is unique to that character and not a phrase that is as common as "Hey there". Besides the aforementioned, there is no citation to back up the claim that Oh My God is Danny's catchphrase, so if there is no objections, please remove it or at least try to dig up a more obvious catch phrase used by Danny, there are loads. --78.86.159.199 (talk) 22:04, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

This article reads as if written by a fan who watched every episode and bought all the fan memorabilia. The chatty tone and lack of behind the scenes details (production history being a big one) don't read like an encyclopedia article at all. Other questions are left unanswered, such as why, when the cast was well known to be friendly with each other even off-set, are so many of the original cast members not interested in a reunion movie? And why are only the adults listed as "main protagonists"? Including one who wasn't even an original cast member? That doesn't make sense. I request the semi-protection of this article after numerous IP addresses have been repeatedly vandalised and un-useful edits to the cast and character names. Mr.Television (talk) 04:49, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

The template you put at the top is for when the article is already semi-protected, and someone not auto-confirmed wants to edit the article. The way to request semi-protection is at WP:RPP. I'll take a look now and see if a request there seems warranted. Qwyrxian (talk) 05:21, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
After checking, I disagree with the need for semi-protection. Not only do I only see a few vandalizing edits in the last few days, I also see legitimate, useful info being added by IPs. Note, for example, that the last change you reverted (the overlinking) wasn't vandalism, it just wasn't necessary, and I can see why someone might misunderstand that. Page protection should really be done if the amount of damage being done (i.e., the amount of time it takes to monitor and revert bad edits) outweighs the positive contributions by IPs. If the vandalism gets worse, please file a report at WP:RPP. Qwyrxian (talk) 05:25, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Edit request

I think it should be mentioned that the suffix "-polis" means "city" and that "Katsopolis" is not a person's surname. No Greek I know has delusions of municipality.

Nonetheless, that is the spelling used on the series. You'd think Stamos would have said something.

But I guess one would also have expected Alex Karras to get his character's name on Webster (George Papadopolis) to have the non-silly suffix. Paul Austin (talk) 07:02, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

Well, as I'm sure you're aware, "-opoulos" is a common suffix in Greek names, meaning "descendant of". I would assume the original writers of the show(s) just misspelled the names, going with a purely phonetic interpretation. Your point about Stamos and Karras not saying anything is interesting, but then, neither are really known for their incredible talents and rigorous standards. I'd assume they were happy to have good jobs at that point. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.222.159.20 (talk) 03:31, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

Editing This Page

As part of a course, our webpage is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Education_Program_talk:Cornell_University/Online_Communities_(Fall_2014) me and some of my colleagues have decided to edit this wikipedia page. My group's usernames are as follows: User: Kidd_hudi and User: Im257

New Threads: We would like to create a new section entitled, "The Original Modern Family" that discusses the varying ways in which Full House was the first 'Modern Family' on television, as well as the social impact of this television course.

Editing Sections: We would also like to expand on new current threads of each character's section, such as to look at the back stories of the characters more thoroughly. Im257 (talk) 17:23, 11 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi folks. Here are some suggestions for your article:
  1. There exist pages in Wikipedia for each of the characters. The article here includes links to those pages, and there is probably no need to duplicate the information.
  2. Do you know where you are going to get the sources for discussing how full house was the first modern family? Are these reliable sources?
  3. Look at the top of the talk page that suggests improvements, such as a plot summary is needed. I suggest that you also look at other TV series articles that are at a higher level and learn what you might need to do to improve the quality of this one.
Happy editing! LeshedInstructor (talk) 18:31, 11 September 2014 (UTC)

Potential revival series — appropriate or not?

User 216.67.78.43 feels the section is not appropriate in the article, citing that it is rumor and "not a sure thing" in edits made which removed the section [2] [3] [4]. While there appears to be plenty of interest to bring about such a revival series, as stated in the reference provided for that section, it is anything but a sure thing. This recent article dated January 26 indicates no signs a revival series is coming to fruition: "Rumors the cast was considering a reunion shot fired up last summer, with many speculating a return for nearly all the cast in an updated version of the show. There has yet to be any confirmation that such a reunion is in the works, or that any plans for one truly exist."

Per WP:CRYSTAL, we must avoid any speculative details in the article, for a show termed to be a "potential" revival of a popular sitcom from the 1980s and 1990s. I do see the section's relevance, as it is part of a bigger section titled Reunions, and past viewers of the show are curious on what is happening today with its cast members. Still, with no firm word about any production of, or participation in, this revival series—even Lori Loughlin (Rebecca Donaldson-Katsopolis) says she was in the dark about such a project [5]—I am on the fence about the appropriateness of the section. Maybe it needs to be updated with the latest from that article I just found. Or should it be removed altogether? MPFitz1968 (talk) 22:48, 27 January 2015 (UTC)

Sources indicate that the series will be called Fuller House and set to air on Netflix. Reports are conflicting, but I've added it to the article with two main sources. If the wording needs to be changed then please do so. Npamusic (talk) 01:50, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
For the record, that's one source. TVLine.com (who?), citing "sources", reports it. Variety reports that TVLine reported it and that Netflix has denied it. - SummerPhD (talk) 02:21, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
For the record, Netflix never "denied" anything, they simply stated it was a rumor. If it was a "rumor" then why are major and higly cited news outlets reporting on it from TVLine's source? Even The Wrap is reporting on it, as well as Entertainment Weekly and 100+ other outlets reporting this. Netflix has not responded to any of their inquires about the series. Does not mean it's been "denied" by the company. I'd be hard pressed to see to it that you use The Wraps source as seems to be the most plausible. Also, they, as well as Variety are citing TVLine as the first to break the news. This isn't unlike the "highly unknown" / "poorly cited" site Latino-Review breaking major casting and directing news that highly cited sites like Variety, Deadline, Hollywood Reporter, among others cite as the first to break the news. It's not un-common. Can we bring someone in here that actually has a knowledge on this subject matter and the guidelines that go with Wikipedia? Please? thanks. Rebecca Donaldson-Katsopolis (hyphen or no hyphen?)

I was scratching my head with this edit. When I did a simple Google search, I did see the hyphen between Donaldson and Katsopolis in some cases, and no hyphen in others. I reverted the edit because it broke the link in the List of Full House characters article, which has no hyphen for the name, but I also indicated in the edit summary the punctuation addition was unsourced. The article on Lori Loughlin also shows no hyphen for the character she portrayed (which also wikilinks to the List of Full House characters page). As the Google search yielded both with and without the hyphen, I am not convinced that the hyphen is needed, and because of how the name is presented in other Wikipedia articles, there should be no change to how it's presented here. Undue weight to gossip about the spin off

The section about the spin off is gratuitously thick with blow by blow minutia and rumors and "confirmations" and "reveals" about the plans for the spin off and needs to be seriously cut down. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 04:31, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Full House. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

Jesse Cochran/Katsopolis

He wasn't "Katsopolis" when it started, that's Retroactive continuity. It is NOT our job to reflect the producers' acting as if Oceania was always at war with Eastasia. Paul Benjamin Austin (talk) 01:34, 14 December 2017 (UTC)

He was Katsopolis for seven out of eight seasons. The section title on his character in List of Full House and Fuller House characters is Katsopolis, and Jesse Katsopolis redirects to that section. A last name that was retconned to Katsopolis and never mentioned again after season one doesn't belong in the lead as a pipe link since for the overwhelming majority of the show he was referred to as Katsopolis. AldezD (talk) 03:09, 14 December 2017 (UTC)
the suffix -polis means city so John Stamos must have had municipal aspirations ;) Paul Benjamin Austin (talk) 06:55, 15 December 2017 (UTC)
What does that have to do with this discussion about how the character's last name is presented in the lead? AldezD (talk) 12:56, 15 December 2017 (UTC)
