FreeGate is a trojian horse?
[edit]See this article [1] Given the Chinese political pressure to keep this program quite it may be a trojan horse or a an anti-censorship program. That's how I came to this article. I'll do some research and see if it true or not. The article could be social engineering to trick people into installing the application. Anyway, we shall see. --58.160.120.121 10:51, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
The Chinese Government appear to be taking this application seriously, they have blocked access to the freegate website from within China. Additionally, my repeated attempts to download the application from other sources have also been blocked. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 123.121.245.234 (talk) 13:17, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
Country Specific
[edit]Is there a reason that different countries are specified? It reads awkwardly and I would think the software could be used everywhere. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.161.43.135 (talk) 15:55, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
Freegate only operates in China
[edit]After installing Freegate (in Turkey), a webpage appeared announcing that Freegate only operates in China.
Freegate was not on my list of programs, so I could not un-install it. I did a system-restore. Some of my default settings are not operating properly, after the system-restore - from Freegate or the restore, who knows?
I'm quite angry that the China-limitation was not made known until after installation. I think the whole deal is shady.
