[edit]'Fonthill Splendens' was a major English country house of the second half of the Eighteenth Century. I've been interested in William Beckford for quite a few years - he was a remarkable character, an aesthete, collector, builder etc. During 'lockdown' I got back to reading some books on him. That led me to checking out the Wikipedia entries to see what was new. To my great surprise, there was no direct article on Fonthill Splendens, which seems an oversight given the valuable research on the house in the last twenty years. In the article on the nearby village of Fonthill Gifford, there is a para on Fonthill House, but really I do think the topic deserves an article of its own. Hope other readers agree, comments welcome. ArchaicW (talk) 16:56, 26 May 2020 (UTC)

[edit]@Archaic: coming across this image, and this one, describing: The Gateway to the original house, Fonthill Splendens. I thought you might wish it for your article. :-) Lotje (talk) 05:56, 27 May 2020 (UTC)
