Picture
[edit]Since Image:Felipe gonzalez.jpg is expected to be deleted, it would be good if someone found a better picture. I'm thinking something like http://www.uc3m.es/uc3m/inst/MU/publicaciones/Madrid/f_felipe_gonzalez.jpg --Joy [shallot] 00:43, 18 August 2005 (UTC)
A better picture is needed. Perhaps a picture of when he was younger or during his presidence.--Ismael76 18:55, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
korruption? the conservative newspaper abc reported.
Yes, corruption. Tough situation, certainly. The "Guardia Civil", the Home Office (The case of GAL, plain state terrorism), Spanish Red Cross, The Official Bulletin of The State or the Bank of Spain were some of the affected institutions. Many politicians are still imprisoned for those scandals.
And how about mentioning the situation of the Spanish economy back in 1992? Near 10% of unemployment rate, 360,000 M€ of external debt...
Longest serving Prime Minister?
[edit]Wasn't Francisco Franco the Prime Minister of Spain from 1939 to 1973. I thought he was both head of state and government. The article says that Felipe Gonzalez was the longest serving prime minister but that wouldn't be so taking Franco's term into account.Abc85 22:01, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Franco wasn't a Prime Minister. He was only a dictator. That is certainly not the same. Eduarodi 07:13, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
He's the longest serving Prime Minister of democracy.
References?
[edit]This referencing in this article is exceptionally poor. Seven references for the whole page? There are numerous sentences throughout the document which make serious claims with absolutely no reference. Either someone needs to properly reference the article or it needs to be drastrically cut down to only those statements which can be properly referenced.
