My full name is Alois Treindl, born 7 March 1950 in Regensburg, Germany, and I have some knowledge in computers, programming, literature, history, physics, psychology and astrology. I am the founder of the Swiss company Astrodienst and webmaster of its website http://www.astro.com. I am also the creator of the open source ephemeris project Swiss Ephemeris, under GPL license.

My contributions to Wikipedia are minor. I am engaged in an independent wiki project, Astro-Wiki, which focuses on astrology. The environment in Wikipedia is often rather hostile towards astrology. Contributing here tends to be a waste of time, as an astrologer's contributions often fall victim to organized skeptics.

Another important community project I am engaged in is Astrodatabank http://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Main_Page which collects birth data including time of birth, based on reliable sources. Most of my Wikipedia edits are based on research regarding birth data done for Astrodatabank.

Swiss Ephemeris is a large open source project, published under a GPL license, by myself and my colleague Dieter Koch, which provides precise astronomical data for use by developers of astrological and astronomical software.
