Written by the Architect himself?
[edit]Considering he probably wrote the whole thing himself, I'm surprised that there is no mention and praise of his excellent prose and autobiographical ability. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 164.143.244.33 (talk) 15:14, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
Much of this article is unsubstantiated and likely written by the architect himself. Somebody should do a review and remove subjective / unsubstantiated sentences such as:
- "Columbia University professors said, “What you are looking for, we cannot teach you”. He was accepted by the maverick architect, Goff, and began a six year apprenticeship. In 1979, he met and lived with Deborah Soward and was eventually married to her for three years until 1986. During this time, he attended the University of Oregon and completed a five year professional degree in three-and-one-half years."

I have to agree. I am referenced inaccurately on one of his self promotion pieces. He is a shameless self promoter. I admire his out of the box thinking, but his insistence on all these awards is just silly. Bart Conner knows he was a crappy gymnast, so why is he promoting being an older crappy gymnast. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.15.19.226 (talk) 00:31, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
Agree with both editors above, this piece is absolutely out of hand and, quite frankly, a bit ridiculous. The fact that the article on Norman Foster (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norman_Foster,_Baron_Foster_of_Thames_Bank) is of shorter length, and his fame is much greater, is a travesty. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.135.59.179 (talk) 00:13, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
Can someone please clean this up it's... quite frankly, ridiculous — Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.81.215.182 (talk) 20:32, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
This is kind of amazing... sent here by a reference to the man, and was quite a ways down before the incredible lack of citations made me stop. If I could I would flag this article for review... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.13.152.54 (talk) 00:45, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
Pruning content
[edit]Per some of the above comments and my own judgement, I've removed several large sections from the article ('The Future', 'Quotations', and 'Trivia') which did not contribute significantly to the content. I pruned the first few paragraphs to remove unnecessary adjectives (e.g., "multi-talented", "unique and original") that broke neutrality. The list of awards and honours remains uncited, the overall tone is one of self-promotion, and there are still numerous instances where editing is required to achieve an encyclopedic tone and to verify accuracy. Cheers. --PeruvianLlama(spit) 14:03, 25 October 2012 (UTC)
