Unsourced Advertising
[edit]Sentences like "three of the most widely used broadcast microphones in the United States" are just unreferenced company spin.
- There can be no doubt that the RE20 and RE27 have dominated commercial radio broadcasting in the U.S. for at least a decade, just as the RCA 44 and 77 microphones did in the 1940s and 1950s. But finding a written source for this? Good luck. 18.26.0.5 (talk) 23:19, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
Relationship with Tapco
[edit]At some point during the 1980's, EV either purchased or licensed the TAPCO naame and produce mixers, graphic equalizers, and electronic crossovers under the EV/TAPCO banner. (Need dates and citation) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.206.94.210 (talk) 16:16, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
"TV booster"?
[edit]Is there a source explaining what sort of "TV booster" that should've been? This term is widely unknown on the internet and leads to chinese antenna preamp adverts and such. "TV booster" could describe anything from a relay transmitter over a power amp for a transmitter to a home antenna preamp and anything else that "boosts" something in context with TV. It's like calling JATOs "speed boosters".--80.171.165.84 (talk) 07:41, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

The article had three external links [1]. --Ronz (talk) 01:33, 15 December 2015 (UTC)

- Fine. Needs slight wikifying. --Ronz (talk) 01:11, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
- History of Electro-Voice, as written in 1953, from Prosoundweb.com
- Looks like a dead link that's been redirected. I'm not finding an archived copy of the page. --Ronz (talk) 01:11, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
- Found archived copy. https://web.archive.org/web/20081212141555/http://www.prosoundweb.com/install/commentary/kc/ev/timecapsule.shtml I'll replace it. --Ronz (talk) 01:24, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
- However, it's a reference, so should not be duplicated. --Ronz (talk) 01:27, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
- Telex Communications, inc
- Remove per ELNO#19, "Websites of organizations mentioned in an article". --Ronz (talk) 01:11, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
- No problem with any of your removals except the Telex link. Telex is more than an organization that is casually mentioned in the article. Electro-Voice is a subdivision of Telex. ‑Scottywong| babble _ 16:20, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
- ELNO is clear that such links don't belong. It also violates WP:NOTDIRECTORY and to a lesser extent WP:NOTLINK. --Ronz (talk) 16:27, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
- I've removed it per the above. Please note it doesn't belong until there is consensus to include per ELBURDEN. --Ronz (talk) 15:54, 16 December 2015 (UTC)
