Assessment
[edit]I am assessing at low importance as a subject that "may only be included to cover a specific part of a notable article." The mid importance article would be talking drums. Jacqke (talk) 11:24, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
Idiophone or percussion
[edit]This Ekwe instrument shown in the picture is idiophone and not have the characteristics of the drum. WIKI: "Drums consist of at least one membrane, called adrumhead or drum skin, that is stretched over a shell and struck, either directly with the player's hands, or with a drumstick, to produce sound." and "An idiophone is any musical instrument which creates sound primarily by way of the instrument's vibrating, without the use of strings or membranes."
Ekwe - idiophone or percusion?

- The above unsigned comment is to date the only contribution of User:Bassetla [1]. But it's a good point. Andrewa (talk) 04:44, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
- It seems to be a Slit drum, which is one of the few types of idiophone to be commonly called a drum, I guess because for all intents and purposes they are played and sound quite similarly to membranophone drums.Gudzwabofer (talk) 12:49, 4 September 2015 (UTC)
