- Egyptian-Ottoman is the preferable name to use, since this was the Ottoman Empire, not the modern state of Turkey.Historicist (talk) 16:22, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
Planning to make significant edits
[edit]Hi all,
As part of a college course on the late Ottoman Empire, my professor has asked us to update related wikipedia articles. I've drafted a new version of this article, (don't worry, grades are based on the content I've already turned in to my professor) and I would appreciate your feedback on this draft to publish it to this article. My draft changes are shown here: User:Kentuckyjohnson/sandbox/Ottoman-Egyptian War (1831-1833)
Looking forward to your feedback Kentuckyjohnson (talk) 19:16, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
Update: I have now uploaded these edits after receiving some feedback on my draft. Thanks to all who helped me! Kentuckyjohnson (talk) 17:24, 8 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Kentuckyjohnson: Good work! You have improved the text significantly and increased the number of citations. The painting adds"color" and the map, information. I think you deserve an "A" in your course work for Grade A WP work. I hope to see more edits from you in the future. Your ability to research, write well and manage wiki code (etc) would be an asset to WP in the coming years. Thanks, Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 22:04, 9 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Tribe of Tiger: Thanks! Hope my professor agrees. Kentuckyjohnson (talk) 02:00, 10 March 2018 (UTC)
A strange sentence
[edit]"Wary of Moscow’s expanding influence in the Ottoman Empire..." In 1830s the capital of Russian Empire was Saint Petersburg, not Moscow. 95.221.179.244 (talk) 19:11, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
Adding Al-Bashzoeq to Al-Dan is a huge mistake
[edit]It is unreasonable that for the mere presence of 300 to 500 Albanians as the highest estimate in their participation in the Egyptian-Ottoman war with the presence of more than 95 thousand Egyptians, this is unreasonable because the Bashzoeq were also present in the Ottoman army in the fight against the Egyptians, thousands of fighters from Albania and others Votalay (talk) 13:56, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
