Grading
[edit]There are very few unassessed opera articles: see Category:Unassessed Opera articles. This suggests that Donnerstag needs a rating; see Wikipedia:WikiProject Opera/Assessment. I'm not familiar with the details because the articles I usually come across are all stub or start class – this one is clearly more. Because of my lack of experience in rating articles better that start, I would have instinctively rated is a C-class, cautious as I am. But then that seemed inadequate, and that leaves B-class which I've never done. Anybody else got a better handle on this rating system? -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 13:51, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
Image positioning
[edit]The two Michaels in act 3 present a small layout problem, which has now been made easier to solve through the added text for scene 1. The first fortuitous result is that the dragon fighter can now go back to the right, avoiding the fragmentation of the list. The {{Clear}} at the end of "Donnerstags-Abschied" still creates an awful lot of white space between that paragraph and "Unsichtbare Chöre". Removing the 'Clear' will avoid that and the top of the trumpeter will align with the first line of text in "Donnerstags-Abschied" and extend down through much or all of "Unsichtbare Chöre", depending on the screen width. If the trumpeter gets, counterintuitively, positioned between the section header "Scene 2: Vision" and its paragraph, the center of the image will align with the center of the section "Donnerstags-Abschied". If that section gets substantially expanded, the image can then be moved down a bit again. At any rate, the current 'Clear' should go. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 06:05, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
- Agreed about the first image. I had placed it at the right with the expectation that the text would be filled out, as it now has been, and the laft-aligned image interferes with the bulleted list. I'm a little confused about what you are saying about the second image, but the "Donnerstags-Abschied" section will not likely ever be made much larger. The main concern is that the "Unsichtbare Chöre" section may not be best placed where it is, and if it is moved so that the "Discography" immediately follows the short "Donnerstags-Abschied" text, the image will collide with it in an unfortunate way. Personally, I do not see what is wrong with the white space, and find this preferable to the displacement of headers by a preceding image.—Jerome Kohl (talk) 06:15, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
- I think the second problem is solved, for the time being at least, by decreasing the size of the thumbnail image somewhat. A "Critical reception" section should come between the Synopsis and the Discography, which will potentially affect this layout. The synopsis for act 1, especially, still needs expanding, as does the "History" section (with accounts of the commissioning and separate first performances of the component parts).—Jerome Kohl (talk) 17:18, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
