Requested move 23 September 2016
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: Moved to Director of the Intelligence Bureau. There is consensus support for the general concept of moving away from the disambiguated form, as there is no other article *on Wikipedia* competing with this (which is what is required per WP:DAB). There is also some support for including the definite article in the title. — Amakuru (talk) 08:43, 13 October 2016 (UTC)
Director of Intelligence Bureau (India) → Director of Intelligence Bureau – no need for parenthesis if main title is empty. Ranze (talk) 10:19, 23 September 2016 (UTC) --Relisting. — Amakuru (talk) 11:22, 30 September 2016 (UTC)
- Support per nom. There was an RfC about this a while ago. Pppery 22:39, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose where is the RfC? Intelligence Bureau (Pakistan) also has its director, Aftab Sultan. In ictu oculi (talk) 07:10, 24 September 2016 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Filpro (talk) 02:12, 25 September 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose, as it's not the only Intelligence Bureau. And move to Director of the Intelligence Bureau (India). -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:10, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
- But Director of the Intelligence Bureau is a redlink. Again, no need for parenthesis if the main title is empty. — Andy W. (talk · ctb) 02:14, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
- As I said, yes there is, since there is more than one Intelligence Bureau. We do need some disambiguation for such a common term. Just because we only have an article for this director doesn't mean it's obvious which one we're referring to. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:06, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
- But Director of the Intelligence Bureau is a redlink. Again, no need for parenthesis if the main title is empty. — Andy W. (talk · ctb) 02:14, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
- Support a move in general. If Director of the Intelligence Bureau is better grammar, move to that. — Andy W. (talk · ctb) 02:16, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
