Suggestions for the section, Shrinkage controlling methods

[edit]

There are various procedures to minimize the residual shrinkage of the fabrics

  • Selection of the yarn Count and Denier to achieve particular g.s.m(Grams per square meters).
  • Maintaining Loop or weave density.
  • Chemical (Resin )treatments.
  • The Pre-heat-setting and post-heat setting of synthetic and blends fabrics. Heat setting is a thermal process taking place mostly in either a steam atmosphere or a dry heat environment. The effect of the process gives fibers, yarns, or fabric dimensional stability.
  • Finishing with Sanforizing and calendering machines.

Have reliable sources, if the fellow Wikipedians are agreeable. Thanks, RAJIVVASUDEV (talk) 12:55, 7 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
