Song
[edit]I'm pretty sure that the Derwent song was sung We are Derwent, We are Derwent to the tune of We are sailing (not I love you, Derwent, sung to the tune of Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You as in the article). The last line was No one likes us, we don't care! which is why I remember it! Mammal4 13:05, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
- Certainly during my time there it was as stated in the article (from 2001) When were you there? Maybe the song changed at some point. I;d hope your song was before 2001 as I could understand the change then...no self-respecting Derwent-person should be singing about nobody liking them...lol Evil Eye 19:47, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
- Possibly - I left at the end of 2001 so it could have changed. Out of interest the Langy song was (still is?) Your are my Langwith sung to the tune of You are my sunshine. Wenty had a song to the tune of Happy talk but I can't remember the words - probably a bit before your time because I think its just for postgrads now, who are generally too miserable to sing about anything ;) Mammal4 07:18, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
- No idea about songs for other colleges, they never seemed to have the same spirit hat Derwent did either. Wentworth is also very different now...but don't call postgrads miserable....I've been one this last year (still kept my 'membership' of Derwent, though I think I was somehow automatically a member of Wentworth College too...not that I really paid much attention to the colleges this last year. Anyway, back to the songs....I'm sure someone else more knowledgeable about other colleges might be able to tell you...perhaps try posting on the relevant college articles. - The miserable comment was tongue in cheek (see my user page education). I don't know what its like now but back in the day it was always Langy, Derwent and Wenty that took the college spirit thing seriously (well you have to have a sense of humour if you live in Langwith, like living in an airaid shelter during the Blitz!) I'm guessing that there are probably several versions of the college song for most colleges, depending on the era and the people involved. Maybe its worth rewording the article slightly to accomodate this fact? take careMammal4 08:21, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Past chairs
[edit]Neil is not a former chair of Derwent College, I know him personally and he is a current student. I can link to his facebook page where his current status is made clear. 94.195.251.61 (talk) 17:31, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
