Status of Legality

[edit]

What is the status of legality in the USA, UK, CDN of this death-bringing plant, which could be very easily abused by murderers (food) and terrorists (water supply)? Is this plant well controlled or quite illegal? Have farmers the duty to eradicate this plant? Does the police know this plant as well or better as cannabis-sativa or papaver-somniferrum? -- 217.232.231.243 19:05, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I know, delphinium is not controlled and not illegal. The two most common species of delphinium where I live are not something a rational person might think to eat or smoke. If you did (unless you ate an entire plant or two or three), I suspect you might get a bit of a belly ache but that's about all. In my many hikes into the mountains of the Western US, delphinium has always been one of my favorite wildflowers. The tall or tower delphinium is very showy and spectacular. Until just now, however, I was unware that it was poisonous. In my personal view, anything that keeps cows out of the wilderness deserves to be protected, not eradicated.75.141.60.224 (talk) 00:44, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Spur

[edit]

To me, the most interesting thing about larkspur/delphinium is the spur on the back of the flower. I was disappointed that none of the article's photos show the spur. 75.141.60.224 (talk) 00:44, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lice

Why is there a Lice template at the bottom? RobChafer (talk) 22:13, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation

[edit]

We could use a disambiguation page for this one. It's also a structure in Ancient Greek cities, cf. http://www.goddess-athena.org/Museum/Temples/Miletus/Miletus_map.html k. da-ma-te (talk) 04:36, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
