I suppose this video of Tennant speaking in support of Circle might settle it? Or is this 'original research'? LOL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlqMhsRrTt0 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Varnebank (talk • contribs) 21:09, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
Ulster Scots?
As his mother was Ulster-Scots, he should surely be described as 'Scots-Irish' or perhaps 'Scottish-Ulster-Scot'. Or, and this is why we need to use the correct term, British! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Varnebank (talk • contribs) 19:13, 12 June 2015 (UTC)

The movie 'You, Me & Him' was released in December 2017, so is hardly in production as of January 2018 and Tennant also hosted an episode of 'Have I Got News For You' in 2017. Since the article is locked, these changes can't be made.50.247.98.197 (talk) 03:23, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

Hopefully someone updated the Filmography of Jessica Jones for David Tennant. He is in an episode of Season 2 of Jessica Jones.

Confusing layout
Is anyone against restructuring this article so that it is divided more chronologically rather than in Doctor Who, other TV etc. sections? I think that the confusing structure is really harming the article. Alduin2000 (talk) 12:36, 7 July 2019 (UTC)

Now that "voice actor" is back in his occupation section, which is good. The one and only thing innit is lower case letters. With "Actor, Voice Actor" to "Actor, voice actor". Especially with the first sentence of the article too needs to be added too. With "is a Scottish actor" to "is a Scottish actor and voice actor". 2600:1000:B00D:DDF9:D48D:81B8:AB03:92DB (talk) 00:45, 28 November 2019 (UTC)
- The purpose of the lead is meant to briefly summarize the articles sections has a whole. The second paragraph states "Tennant has also worked extensively as a voice actor and in theatre." The lead therefore preforms its duties of summarizing the article. It could be up for discussion so I'll leave to other editors but I'm leading towards no since it's located elsewhere in the lead? - Not done Capitalization fixed per request below. Did not change placement of "voice actor" in lead per the comment above. – wallyfromdilbert (talk) 19:39, 28 November 2019 (UTC)

Under the heading, "Other work", what follows the subheading "2011-present" is a hot chronological mess. First comes 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2017, and then it tracks right back to 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019. Just needs a bit of tidying/reordering. Well it's April 19 so now Tennant is 50 y/o.
Role of The Doctor
Hes said multiple times he was offered the role of The Doctor after the filming of Casanova but it says it was during auditions of Quatermass. EvanByrne57 (talk) 18:16, 25 April 2020 (UTC)

The term "voice actor" should be removed from his occupation section, because "actor" already covers both his voice over work and live action work. He does voice work occasionally, but not all the time. Especially with narrations he did, they shouldn't really count as voice credits. Voice roles count for animated roles only. 2600:1000:B07D:99C7:2534:EE04:A7EB:A2D4 (talk) 00:01, 14 June 2020 (UTC)

Surname
I haven't found it neither in the article nor in the Discussion archive. Since when does David McDonald use the name Tennant, and why? Can this be added and sourced? BasileusAutokratorPL (talk) 23:05, 30 December 2020 (UTC)
After discovering that there was another David McDonald already represented by the actor's union Equity, he took his stage name from Pet Shop Boys frontman Neil Tennant after reading a copy of Smash Hits magazine.[13][14] He later had to legally change his surname to meet Screen Actors Guild rules.[15]

David Tennant appeared in an episode of Foyle's War
I noticed by chance that David Tennant appeared in a 2002 episode of British TV series Foyle's War (S01E03) entitled "A Lesson in Murder", playing the part of Theo Howard, an anti-war activist who later decides to sign up, but there is no mention of this on David Tennant's Wikipedia page.
I can't see an edit button on the page, so I'm posting here in case anyone wants to add this to the page.
Thanks. John 2C0F:FE38:2027:B2EC:75A6:B936:820F:9470 (talk) 05:34, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
Hi! I think it would be really helpful to have notations for where Tennant's movies and shows can be found. For example, Mary Queen of Scots and Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire can be bought or rented on Amazon Prime. HBO Max has Dr. Who and Bright Young Things, Disney+ has Ferdinand, etc. I think now more than ever people are spending a lot of time watching tv on streaming services and developing a list of favorite actors. Wikipedia would be my first instinct to find other productions that actors or actresses are in.

His voice notable voice acting credits in the introduction should change to the How to Train Your Dragon franchise rather than How to Train Your Dragon films because his role in the television series is much larger, and it also includes his audiobook narration for the franchise's book series. In his bio, there is a claim that David Tennant is the first actor to portray the character twice. However, he is either the second, third, or fourth depending on what is considered canon.
However, Tom Baker played both the Fourth Doctor from 1974-81 and the Curator in the 50th anniversary special "The Day of the Doctor"(2013). The Curator is a future incarnation of the Doctor and is confirmed to be so by various supplemental works such as the Prose for "The Day of the Doctor", several Big Finish Audio Dramas, and at least one comic. (This is the first canon instance of a doctor playing two separate incarnations of the doctor on screen)
Colin Baker also played the Sixth Doctor and as an alternative Curator in several Big Finish Productions such as "Crossed Lines"(2020) and "The Keys to Baker Street" (April 2022). (This is a debatably-canon instance of an actor playing two incarnations, however, Baker does not appear on screen as this version of the Curator).
In addition, Richard E. Grant played alternate 9th and 10 doctors in Scream of the Shalka (2003) and the Curse of the Fatal Death (1999) respectively. While both Doctors are no longer canon, they were at the time of production. (This is the first instance of an actor playing two separate incarnations, however, each was later retconned (Fatal Death was replaced by Shalka, and Shalka was retconned in the 2005 reboot). - Removed. It is debatable, a bit trivial, and lacking sources. --Mvqr (talk) 13:54, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
