Cylinder head question
[edit][02/01/2008] - The last picture posted shows us a hard to find cylinder head from GMC van. Could anyone please post more details about it? The make, year, engine type, vehicle type. Thanks for supporting 21st century engine revolution!!! chapelon2@gmail.com
Puzzled
[edit]< the head is made as an integral part of the cylinder. This is also common for motorcycles, and such head/cylinder components are referred to as barrels. >
Common? Really? (There must be some such, although I cannot think of one offhand. 2A00:23C7:D29D:4E01:703B:5D58:9248:FE06 (talk) 18:24, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
- See monobloc head, as the article suggests.
- I make no claim as to the commonness of such for modern motorbikes, although it did have its day when cylinders were on their own (air-cooled singles or V-twins). Andy Dingley (talk) 18:57, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
