[edit]Is at least some of this contribution relevant? Muzzamo 10:09, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
- Not a pinch. An article this tiny, with 1/2 to 1/3 of it about rumours... What a joke. Michael talk 10:42, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
- Even you think the rumours are about Pyne Michael :P The issue here isn't the subject matter, the issue here uncited controversial statements. This is what needs to be concentrated on. Timeshift 21:06, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
- Ok fair call. My main goal was to get people discussing it here :-) Muzzamo 23:48, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
- I don't know if you were in on the previous edits by anons (regardless this is to all who want to add this with what they consider to be valid citations), but a blog cannot be used as a source on wikipedia, and the news article doesn't refer to Pyne directly. Timeshift 23:57, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
- Had nothing to do with them. Muzzamo 00:33, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

This is a defamatory subjectmatter (otherwise all the papers would have reported it!) which should not be discussed even on the talk page without proper citations. WikiTownsvillian 09:02, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed... I'm eating my words for bringing the edit up to begin with. I had just finished a very long day of study :-( Muzzamo 12:37, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
Deputy Liberal Leadership candidacy
[edit]should someone add something about his candidacy for the deputy Liberal party leadership?DavoBAM (talk) 09:28, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
Watching Pyne as I do hangs back in waiting. Very scary man do fear him if he gets elected he wants to create a weapons industry in S.A. not the man he seems to be ... Jet08 (talk) 09:34, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
Page protection
[edit]I hardly think Pyne continues to require it. Timeshift (talk) 02:24, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
View on by-elections
[edit]Mr Pyne said he believed the electoral system should be changed so that if a member of the House of Representatives retired, his party could choose a replacement to see out the term.[1]
Noteworthy, or too specific to mention? Timeshift (talk) 00:21, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- At this remove, it's hardly noteworthy any more, if it ever was. But I'd just make the point that there are things called general elections that are specially designed to decide who takes the place of retired politicians. What Pyne/Grattan were talking about was members who resign mid-term. Big difference; and I'm surprised players like these still confuse this terminology. -- Jack of Oz ... speak! ... 04:50, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
Pyne has a strong stance of illicit drug prohibition (versus harm minimisation).[2]
[edit]Clicking on the hyperlink at reference 2. returns "Invalid Page: Check the page exists and it has a valid page template". Could someone add a new reference for Chrisopher Pyne's stance on illicit drug prohibition? Thank you. Swampy 121.212.128.163 (talk) 12:03, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
- Done. Any reason you couldn't? Timeshift (talk) 12:12, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
Religion
[edit]Would you say that the below link confirms that Christopher Pyne is a Catholic?

Middle name
[edit]Is there a reference for Maurice? I can't find anything, and it's never been referenced in the article's history. -- Lear's Fool 23:59, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
- I re-inserted it, Frickeg added Pyne's middle name along with heaps of others using the parliamentary handbook. Timeshift (talk) 05:33, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
- My apologies, it has been here since the article's creation five years ago by Adam Carr. Frickeg would have corrected it if it were not true when he used the handbook. And Carr is a reliable source (as far as non-WP:RS goes). I would say this is one of those rare cases where it should remain unless shown otherwise. Timeshift (talk) 05:35, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I can't see any reason not to trust Carr (he was before my time, but is clearly trustworthy). Still, we should definitely look for a reference if possible (per WP:BLP). Is the handbook available online? His parliamentary bio doesn't give a middle name. Perhaps it's worth asking Frickeg? -- Lear's Fool mobile 06:10, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
- He's on leave apparently, but if you ask you might get a response. But I do note that he's added hundreds of middle names without citations. They've been added correctly... any doubts can be traced through the article history to see which contributor added it. For something like this I think they can be the RS. Yes it's not technical but i'm also pragmatic. I certainly don't like the idea of a ref so early in the lead of an article, for every MP article, with what I believe is an offline-based ref, just to cite middle names. Education
[edit]Neither citation 3 or 4 verifies that Christopher Pyne attended St Ignatius College. I'm pretty confident he only attended it for a couple of years - would be good to track down and add the other school. Jdigz (talk) 22:26, 5 December 2013 (UTC)
- Pyne and Education is something that needs a lot more expansion generally :) Timeshift (talk) 22:47, 5 December 2013 (UTC)

Such class...
[edit]"Sorry to hear about Bob Such. I was always sorry that he felt he couldn't stay in the Liberal family and hoped he'd return. Vale." - Chris Pyne. They're all over him on Twitter, he's already changed it. Timeshift (talk) 15:30, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
Cunt
[edit]Christopher Pyne has astoundingly used the word "cunt" in parliament. Refer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TsNL3uBw1g He also has managed to drop the reference "See you next Tuesday" (C U N.. T..) on TV in a clear hidden insult. Perhaps not worthy enough for inclusion in the article but might be so if he continues to 'drop the C bomb' 14.200.208.126 (talk) 15:07, 6 February 2015 (UTC)

Gay marriage
[edit]Is Christopher Pyne in support of gay marriage? I think there was some concern about him having an affair with James Ashby? 182.255.99.214 (talk) 11:04, 7 April 2016 (UTC)
