Canberra Liberals → Liberal Party of Australia (A.C.T. Division) – Despite the WP:COMMONNAME, which was the reason of this article's move to the current name in August 2018, the naming of the article is inconsistent with other state/territory divisions of the Liberal Party of Australia. The official name convention is also used for state/territory branches of the Australian Labor Party and state divisions of the National Party of Australia. - I also pinged @Ivar the Boneful: who moved this article last year. Marcnut1996 (talk) 02:47, 18 November 2019 (UTC)
- I changed the proposed new name from Liberal Party of Australia (Australian Capital Territory Division) to Liberal Party of Australia (A.C.T Division) as it is the official spelling on the Canberra Liberals home page. However, both proposed names can be further discussed. Marcnut1996 (talk) 04:00, 18 November 2019 (UTC)
- I think it might be worth having this conversation on the WikiProject as it's probably not the only case where this sort of issue comes up and it'd be good to come up with a more general agreement. I don't recall there being much of a conversation around naming when we rolled out the state branch articles - we had to call them something so we had someplace to put the content and fill a void in our coverage. I don't have strong opinions over whether we use common or formal names: the current names are long and unwieldy but political parties are prone to changing common names more often than I'd like. - Good point. I have raised the topic in the Wikiproject talk page. Marcnut1996 (talk) 06:09, 18 November 2019 (UTC)

- Comment. Have taken the liberty of inserting a full stop after the "T" in "A.C.T.", which is the correct punctuation found at the bottom of the Canberra Liberals home page. All the best! P. I. Ellsworth, ed. put'r there 08:08, 26 November 2019 (UTC)
