Movie Incarnation

[edit]

I believe someone just said it's not Brawl but Devastator instead because he or she just saw the movie.
I agree. In the film, he refers to himself as Devestator while replying to Frenzy
I also saw the movie, and I thought he was referred to as Brawl... I would have picked it out if he didn't... Geshpenst 12:27, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, both Roberto Orci (one of the writers) and Hasbro's Transformers team have said seperately that 'Devastator' is incorrect. According to Orci, both he and Alex Kurtzman pointed this out during editing, but their note may have been lost. We've known since last year that his name is Brawl, so its not exactly a 'last minute change'. - FFN
Maybe his name is Brawl and "Devastator" is just a nickname? Just as in the Dreamwave comics bio they say Scavenger's nickname is "Scrounge". user:mathewignash
Its not his nickname, its a mistake on the part of the film. At Botcon 2007, Hasbro said that 'Devastator' is just a continuity error and that the character remains Brawl. I wouldn't depend on anything Dreamwave did in the past - Dreamwave liked to throw in fanwanks and references at random, and in G1 Scavenger's case, a reference to his early name that was accidently left in the script for Heavy Metal War (if I recall correctly). In any case, I'm going to edit the note with the correct information. - FFN

It's not a mistake. His name is Devastator. He calls himself Devastator in the film and when they interviewed the tank that played the part, the tank said his characters name was Devastator. Tanks don't lie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.139.1.68 (talk) 17:32, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"As the film had support from the military (who supplied various aircraft) it is unclear why they didn't use a real M1A1 Abrams for Brawl."

Quite possibly they didn't want to deal with both the Army and Air Force? I doubt you can go to a military base or post and find both the Raptor and the Abrams. They're used by two very different branches for very different purposes. In addition, I'm sure it's a lot of work making deals with the military to photograph their stuff. It's not like you can just walk onto a military base and start photographing everything in sight. Especially not after 9/11.

Just call him Devastator already. Why? Because a game called Super Smash Brothers Brawl also had the name Brawl as well.(TougHHead 23:20, 18 October 2007 (UTC))[reply]

It was absolutely nonsense to call the tank-decepticon DEVASTATOR, and Brawl is also wrong! BOMBSHOCK would have been the right choice, the leader of the military patrol!--141.89.70.13 (talk) 14:19, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mammoth Tank Mode

[edit]

See the image in the G1 Brawl Section? The vehicle mode looks like a GDI Mammoth Tank.(TougHHead 00:10, 14 October 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Does anyone have a better picture? If it has the Mammoth 4-tread I'm surprised they weren't sued. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 35.11.245.144 (talk) 02:28, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry but no and thats the only one so far.(TougHHead 06:08, 4 November 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Illegal words

[edit]

Hey who put the words "a very pissed off Decepticon" in the 2007 Movie section? Cussing is not okay but if you live in America then there is freedom of speech.(TougHHead 06:31, 4 November 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:529959527 af0c3e0dc1.jpg

[edit]

Image:529959527 af0c3e0dc1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Who wrote this?

[edit]

I presume the original writer of this article did not speak english as a first (or second language). Taking information from this article is like pulling teeth and often information is repeated within a single sentence. There are also spelling mistakes, poor syntax and a casual tone not suitable for wikipedia. Please sort this mess out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.184.100.21 (talk) 20:10, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Brawl the Autobot

[edit]

Please do not remove the listing of Generation 1 Brawl as both Autobot and Decepticon. In one story from Fun Publications, Brawl was depicted as being created as an Autobot before switching sides early in the war, so he was an Autobot at one time in at least some official stories.
