Sources

[edit]

The sourcing for this article is a mess. Not necessarily from a template sense, though I'm sure there could be tweaks.

I mean from a reliability standpoint. I understand there aren't likely to be academic journal articles or write-ups in the New York Times or something. But user-generated databases and a podcast with about 1,000 subscribers aren't exactly stellar sources.

I don't want to blindly revert or seem like I'm biting the newbies, especially since the previously-established citations also seem a bit on the sketchy side.

@MrAHOY, Smackdowner6549, Mr. C.C., DeepPurpleMule, and Kingzwest: I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, since wrestling is fairly far outside of my knowledge/interests. Snowman304|talk 05:13, 27 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thank you for the feedback. I'm very new to this, as you can tell. Trying to learn how to provide the best and accurate information for Bison Smith as he has passed away now. If anything needs to be removed, or you need more info, please let me know and I would be more than happy to cooperate and make sure the relevant sources are in place along with any other tweaks that need to be made regarding his wikipedia page. Just a quick one - not sure if you're refering to the video I used as a source for certain information added to the wikipedia page. If you're referring to the Indy Handshake YouTube channel video I linked, the information on that video is provided by his mother, step father and brother. They all appear in the video, though information provided by them are scattered throughout. I wasn't able to provide a link which was a certain timestamp, so I just had to cite the entire video. @MrAHOY, you need to properly format the YouTube reference. Go to WP:CITE for all sorts of templates. Since it's YouTube, go to WP:VIDEOREF for more information on using videos as a reference. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 07:19, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Snowman304, one thing that needs to be fixed is Online World of Wrestling being used as a source. That would take time to go through to find other to use in place of them. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 07:23, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
