[edit]Is Basfa capitalized or not?
It is indeed capitalized, and I moved it in order to correct the capitalization. Kevin Standlee 23:32, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Adding Sources and More Information
[edit]I'm currently editing to add sources other than the BASFA website, and adding a little more information as well. While I was editing, someone added info I had already written about the minutes for BASFA being published in an ezine, so I deleted the unnecessary second mention for clarity's sake. Deletion Discussion?
[edit]I've been told to allow the Deletion Discussion to happen, but I can't find it. One would assume it would be either
- here on the Discussion tab for the page in question, or
- linked to in the Article for Deletion section.
It seems to be neither.

Never mind. I found it here.

- The result of the request to delete was Keep, but there are numerous comments in the discussion that indicate many editors on Wikipedia feel there are no good sources of information for BASFA, so I don't know how long this article is going to ultimately last. The problem, in my opinion, is that it's difficult to reconcile Wikipedia rules with the fact that the sci-fi community does much of its discussion, meeting, and networking online, and has since the early 1990s. Documentation in print is going to be hard to come by because of the inherent nature of the community. There is no exception that would cover the unique nature of the science fiction community; rather, there is a specific rule at WP:LOCAL that would indicate these articles don't qualify for inclusion: If no source material, or only directory-type information (location, function, name, address) can be provided, the subject may not merit mention at all... Evidence of attention by international or national, or at least regional, media is a strong indication of notability. On the other hand, attention solely from local media, or media of limited interest and circulation, is not an indication of notability.
- Clearly, that's a problem. I would love to know a resolution to this problem, but I'm not nearly familiar enough with Wikipedia to even begin to help solve it. Perhaps someone with more experience here can take up the cause. Clockster (talk) 03:02, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
Removed Tags
[edit]Today I removed the tags. The orphan tag doesn't apply, as this article is linked from other articles. The conflict of interest tag doesn't seem appropriate, as it appears the last people to edit this page are not members pf or affiliated with BASFA. The needs sources tag should have been removed back in February when I added 3rd party sources, so I just removed it today with the others. Thanks. Clockster (talk) 23:24, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
