[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Bay Area Science Fiction Association. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you.
- Please note that I was aware of the existence of BASFA before this AfD occurred, and I am not involved in trying to get it deleted. However, the deletion discussion is still going on, and removing the deletion notice from the article doesn't change that. In fact, it could actually make the situation worse, since supporters of the club's article might go to the page, not see a deletion notice, and assume that the page was no longer being considered for deletion. Also, in regard to the comments you attempted to insert, please note that any article is subject to being nominated for deletion. Someone could nominate United States or Water or William Shakespeare for deletion, although it would be a really stupid idea to do so because the nominator would probably wind up getting sanctioned for being disruptive. But, still, the nomination could occur (it would presumably wind up with a "speedy keep"). --Metropolitan90 (talk) 19:30, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
I've been told the individual who submitted the deletion (RadioFan) has tried to delete the article before and failed. This is looking like a hacking job by someone with ulterior motives. Kf6spf (talk) 19:44, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
- This is the first time I'm aware of any discussion about deleting Bay Area Science Fiction Association. I think you may be referring to the proposed deletion which was removed and then the process moved on to the discussion for deletion. It's all part of the process. I assure you that I have no "ulterior motives". All articles need to meet notability guidelines. If this article can be shown to meet that, then great, if not, then unfortunately it will have to be deleted. Rather than focus on me, you should learn more about Wikipedia's processes in handling concerns about notability of pages. I also encourage you to contribute to the deletion discussion. --RadioFan (talk) 19:54, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
