[edit]Post Bar or Paste Bar? Main Baidu article says Post. --63.96.85.131 (talk) 05:55, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
Famous bars
[edit]The section only includes some kuso bars, and there are no reliable sources to support their fame. --MakecatTalk 09:09, 31 January 2012 (UTC)
Modification
[edit]- First, as for the content in History/background catalogue, this article misses significant information of progress in Baidu Tieba, and meanwhile, it doesn't contain images to illustrate history of Baidu tieba.
There was a huge change in user interface, of which the Baidu Tieba changed from a simply reply-by-sequence user interface into a more complicated reply-in-same-floor one. Images for the old and new interface are as followings:
--HuiHuii (talk) 04:49, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
- I do agree with you, since in early 2012, the user interface has been greatly changed, however, in this article, I cannot even find one word containing this change. Actually, this change is very important. It provides users a more user-friendly way to gather information they need and to participate in discussions they interested in. I think we should add some images of the topic list page and contents page as these two pages change more significantly.--Chenzf 1990 (talk) 15:35, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
- I think the History/Background item is really to simple. How about adding some important events here? For example The Internet campaign on Vulgarity,The "JIA JUNPENG" events. I think such kinds of events play an important role in the development of Baidu Tieba--Chenzf 1990 (talk) 18:51, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

- Second, as for the content in Famous bars catalogue, the author did not provide enough evidence to verify that the name of Tieba listed is famous. In another respect, it should include links to Baidu Tieba for different famous Tieba, instead of just the name of Tieba in Wikipedia, because we are talking about Baidu Tieba of such names, rather than the name itself. --HuiHuii (talk) 04:49, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
- I think you may forget to read the references in the end of this article. If you take a look of them ,you will find this article has already listed the links to the so-called famous bars. Thus, your concerns that the author did not provide enough evidence may just be needless. In fact, the problem existed in the famous bar item may be caused by un-updated resources. As far as I know, the so-called famous bars like Zhe Tian, Wu Dong Qian Kun was no-longer famous nowadays, I think we should replace them with the most popular bar recently.--Chenzf 1990 (talk) 15:51, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
- I do know the reference in the end of the page, but don't you think the table of Famous Bars should focus on the Tieba's links, rather than a name of the famous person? I mean, the author put emphasis on the issue in a wrong way, say, attached relatively unimportant links in a critical position. As for another respect, like you mentioned, the content of the tablet was no longer correct since people's views change everyday, thus the author need to update those content as soon as possible.---HuiHuii (talk) 17:52, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
- Yeah, this article is really out-of-dated. --Chenzf 1990 (talk) 18:51, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

- Bad reference!!!!! After checking the references attached by this article, I found the first reference:[1]Happy 8th Birthday has already changed to a website which cannot provide any information about this article, I think we should delete it. In addition, the reference[4]:百度简介 is actually an empty page. We should also delete it. Furthermore, as I have said above in response to HuiHui's suggestion, I think we should also add some links to the most famous bars nowadays.--Chenzf 1990 (talk) 16:00, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
- Calm buddy, I know you uncontrollable indignation about such references from your punctuation "!!!!!" in the end of your first sentence, and I do agree with you about this opinion.--HuiHuii (talk) 17:52, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
- This article has listed as much as 9 items, However, none of these items is well-constructed and some items like Post bar, Domain names can just be deleted since I cannot see any useful information there. In my point of view, I think we should add some other items which can help reader have a better understanding of Baidu Tieba. For example, BBS was once the most famous online chatting format, Tieba, in some degree, can be regarded as the inheritor of BBS. Thus I just wonder whether we should provide some comparisons between those two? In addition, considering the prevalence of SNS, perhaps we should also point out the differences between those two items.--Chenzf 1990 (talk) 16:26, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
- Yeah, actually the catalogue is a bit of mess since it does not seem to focus on a concrete point. For example, the catalogue "Function" is in fact a huge respect which contains pretty much information, especially for function of reply, creat thread, expression, sign in, sign up, ranking for activity etc. The author rarely mentioned concrete contents for those catalogue.---HuiHuii (talk) 17:52, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, I do agree with you, but I don't think we should add functions like sign in, sign up here since each websites contains such function. I don't need to spend to much time explaining these function to the reader. --Chenzf 1990 (talk) 18:51, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

- Actually, China is not the only country that using Baidu Tieba. Tieba is also famous in Malaysia, Brazil, Japan, thus I think we should introduce the development of Baidu Tieba in foreign countries.--Chenzf 1990 (talk) 16:26, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
- But this is really of little importance since Baidu Tieba is still most active in China and not that famous in the out side of China, if any, most of those foreign users should be familiar with Chinese. Thus, instead of adding information about developments of Baidu Tieba in foreign country, it is more acceptable to do some relatively meaningful research such as compare type of users of Baidu Tieba with other social forum.--HuiHuii (talk) 17:52, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
- You may misunderstand what I mean, Actually, the foreign users don't need to be familiar with Chinese, For example, Baidu Tieba in Japan, all of its functions are written in Japanese, thus the Japanese can use Japanese to post topic, create new bar and etc in the Tieba for Japan. Since we are discussing Baidu Tieba, but not Baidu Tieba in China, I think we shouldn't just simply ignore its development in foreign countries--Chenzf 1990 (talk) 02:10, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
- I do not find Japanese Baidu Tieba after searching on the internet, could you please add a link to testify what you meant? Or do you mean some mirror website in Japanese to translate Chinese to other language? And such websites cannot be regarded as a new website from Baidu Tieba, since it just does some jobs like translation. But in summary, the word Baidu Tieba has already contained users using any other language, thus the point should not focus on what coutury they are from, actually, people from all over the world could join such forum. So, as I mentioned, it is more acceptable to do some relatively meaningful research such as compare type of users of Baidu Tieba with other social forum and give a ranking under some controled conditions. Btw, I am very glad to talk to you about this article, we really find many useful and meaningful information to improve this article. Cheers!HuiHuii (talk) 03:48, 17 October 2013 (UTC)

- All of the foreign version's Tieba Pages are redirected to another pages or simply 404. Should we notice this change in the page? VoidVoice 10:22 15/7/17 (UTC+8)
- Most of the references are the research or articles done by Baidu itself, I do not think there is neutrality in this page. VoidVoice 10:26 15/7/17 (UTC+8)
English
[edit]The English of this article is terrible, to the point sometimes that it makes no sense. Numerous errors of subject-verb agreement.
Here's one of many examples: "In traditional BBS, the topics are usually broadly covered, which may contain a wide range of information." "In traditional BBS" is incorrect. Antecedent of "which" unclear. "the topics" should be "topics".
Another example: "the largest Chinese communication platform provided by the Chinese search engine company, Baidu." Reads like Baidu has many communications platforms, but this, of those provided by Baidu, is its largest. I suspect it means to say that its the largest Chinese communication platform, and it is hosted by Baidu.
I added Proofreader template.
Does "bar" refer to a place one goes to to drink and socialize? If not, what does it mean? A rectangular box to type in?
deisenbe (talk) 17:14, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
- I believe that "bars" referred to a place one goes to drink and socialize. In this case, it's used as a marketing term and is just their way of marketing a forum. I have also went ahead and did some basic proofreading, but I left it up if anyone else wants to do some better translating than me. StaringAtTheStars (talk) 20:36, 27 September 2018 (UTC)
- Baidu does have many communication platforms, of which Tieba is the largest. The largest communication platform in China is definitely not Tieba. Both Weibo and WeChat should have more active users. Aaron Liu (talk) 21:12, 24 November 2023 (UTC)
