[edit]I am not being paid to write this article, but I am involved in an edit-a-thon organized on the occasion of this award, by BBC. That triggered me to create an entry, as I find it notable. I will be pushing this through the AfC process, instead of creating on the main-space directly, to avoid bias in both notability and content. KCVelaga (talk) 14:44, 31 January 2021 (UTC)

- ... that badminton player P. V. Sindhu was the first recipient of BBC Indian Sportswoman of the Year award in 2020? Source: [1]

- Comment: Please save this for March 8. Two reasons: 1.) It is International Women's Day, and this award is focused on encouraging women in sports 2.)The first award was awarded on 8 March 2020, and this year's winner is going to be announced on 8 March.

- Hi KCVelaga, review follows: article moved to mainspace 31 January 2021; article exceeds minimum length; is well written and cited inline throughout to reliable sources; I didn't spot any overly close paraphrasing from the sources used; hook is interesting (I had never heard of the award), mentioned in the article and backed up by the source cited; if desired a photo of Sindhu could be included, or specific reference made to the date significance; a QPQ has been provided. Looks OK to me - Dumelow (talk) 09:06, 2 February 2021 (UTC)
