Clarification regarding Best Film award receiver and credits

[edit]

There are some film production companies in India that are founded by celebrities and use their names, but for the "produced by" credit, someone else is credited. For example, for the company Fahadh Faasil & Friends, Fahadh Faasil's wife Nazriya Nazim is credited. My question is, if an actor, say John Doe, starts a company branded with his name along with other partners, and the film credits only state "Produced by John Doe Company" without mentioning individual names, can a Best Film award, with producer name credited to his partner X, be added to the article "List of awards and nominations received by John Doe," even though John Doe hasn't personally "received" the award, nor has been credited by the awarding jury? 117.230.80.221 (talk) 07:33, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Is WP:GNG clear enough for awards articles?

[edit]

This question has been raised by me in a discussion about deleting an awards article I created. This is not about that article in particular, but more broadly, looking at notability for awards articles. We have LOTS of awards articles that would be eligible for deletion under those current WP:GNG guidelines, and I'm thinking that something more specific (as mentioned in WP:SNG) could be developed specifically for awards. Many awards are not mentioned in mainstream news media, but are meaningful within their subject context. So, just wondering if, among editors in this project, if this has been looked at before. I'm all for making Wikipedia as useful as possible for users, and being able to look up what an award is about seems useful to me. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 00:34, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A guide something along the lines of the articles in Category:Wikipedia notability guidelines could be worth pursuing. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 00:38, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Deprecation of totals in Template:Infobox awards list

[edit]

Hello! We would appreciate your input at this discussion concerning whether totals (|wins=, |nominations=, and |honours=) should be removed from {{infobox awards list}}. Best, HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 17:22, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Subcat creation for Nobel by year templates

[edit]

In Category:Nobel Prize navigational boxes, I think that the year templates, for example Template:1957 Nobel Prize winners should be in a subcat. Maybe Category:Nobel Prize navigational boxes by year? I thought I would ask here before asking on CFD.Naraht (talk) 14:10, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Opus Klassik music awards needed?

[edit]

Opus Klassik is a redirect to the earlier Echo Klassik, which it replaced in 2018. See de:Opus_Klassik and de:Liste der Opus-Klassik-Preisträger. Perhaps someone might like to create an en.wiki article on the current prize? (Not my specialist area, I only came across it while editing Eileen Kramer who danced, aged 107, in a winning video clip!) PamD 09:27, 17 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
