Effects on Israel's energy sector
[edit]I'm not sure if this would be considered relevant enough to add:
- Repercussions of the explosion in Egypt were felt the following day on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. (The Israeli trading week begins on Sunday.) Shares of energy stocks soared on heavy volume, particularly those of partners in the Tamar 1 offshore natural gas field.[1] Senior officials in the Israeli Ministry of Finance urged Yitzhak Tshuva, leading shareholder of Delek Group LTD (TASE:DLEKG), to expedite the development of the Tamar 1 gas field. Tshuva responded, "Whenever we are needed because of problems with the Egyptian gas supplier, we do our duty without asking questions, and this is the thanks we get."[2]
