Department of Activist Studies at the alternative New College of California in San Francisco

[edit]

User:69.236.89.36 has deleted Grubacic's post at the The Department of Activist Studies at the New College of California - should this be restored - do we have any proper refs? (Msrasnw (talk) 11:08, 17 May 2010 (UTC))[reply]

I am not sure. This college closed few years back. Perhaps we should just leave it as is. I can't find any web reference.Bobmarley13 (talk) 17:33, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Updates from CIIS Official Website

[edit]

Dear Editors,

I am Program Coordinator for the Department of Anthropology and Social Change at CIIS. Due to the obvious conflict of interest, I am not editing this page directly. However, we newly updated Prof Grubačić's information on our web site, correcting dead links and filling in recent positions held and publications. I leave this here for the benefit of expert editors in the Social Sciences, Activist Anthropology, and Contemporary Anarchism, for whom it might be useful.

With best wishes, Sean

Possible COIs

[edit]

I think this article is of a form where the possible conflicts of interests of its editors have led to the inclusion of excessive amounts of material. I will put a tag on the article to try and attract non-cois editors. (Msrasnw (talk) 08:30, 8 February 2021 (UTC))[reply]

Good point. However, It seems to me that the issues have been resolved and template messages should be removed. What else needs to be done? It looks fine to me. SmallXXL (talk) 01:36, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • @SmallXXL: Dear SmallXXL, I don't think the issues have been resolved and the page seems to me to be a little over the top or excessive in promoting the subject of the article and his work. To me it reads as a promotional article written by those who wish to promote his views rather than the more neutral encyclopedia page. Best wishes (Msrasnw (talk) 09:15, 11 February 2021 (UTC)) PS: I think one of the major editors of the page reported they were a research assistant of his writing the page for him.[reply]

I guess i don't get the context. To me it looks like a decent entry. Famous anarchist, the editor of the main journal in the field of world history, he founded an entire academic program. It looks objective /neutral in tone to me. External links have been removed. It has standard formatting. His research assistant might have intervened, but i don't see any damage. Are you sure you don't have a personal beef with the guy? SmallXXL (talk) 09:43, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think that you should probably let other people handle this. You have been involved in quibbles around this entry for a couple of years. You appear to be personally invested. My advice is to let other editors work on the page. SmallXXL (talk) 09:59, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
