Introduction and opening paragraph proposal
[edit]@Kehli.west: Hello I am looking forward to working with you on this article. I like what you have accomplished. I have been working on an opening paragraph and would appreciate your feedback. I'll post it below for your review. Feel free to offer up any critiques. This is copied and pasted from my sandbox so disregard the citations, for now.
- Amerson River Park is a public recreational green space consisting of 180 acres located along 2 miles of the Ocmulgee River in Macon-Bibb county, Georgia[1]. The park is named after the late Frank Amerson Jr., a previous chairman of the Macon Water Authority, who donated the land which once hosted the water treatment plant until is was destroyed in the flood of 1994 and relocated[2]. Opened on May 30, 2005. Access to the park is free of admission and includes 3.5 miles of paved trails, picnic pavilions, handicap accessible playground, and a canoe/kayak launch to access the Ocmulgee River[1][2][3]. Amerson River Park is part of the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail[4].
Added info box template
[edit]Added info box template for a park which I though was the most appropriate. If there is better info box template for this page please fee free to update. I updated a few of the parameters that I had the information available. The list of possible template parameters can be found here. Please feel free to update the parameters as you see appropriate. Is article ready to go live?
[edit]@Kehli.west: What additional changes would you like to make before we migrate the article out of the sandbox and into the live environment? Mightymize (talk) 16:57, 4 July 2019 (UTC)
- @Mightymize: Hey I didn't get any of your notifications until I just checked the talk page. Remember that a space is not needed in your reply to tag. That is why I didn't get any of your messages. I like the paragraph up above. You are more than welcome to edit any changes that will make the page more appealing. I already took it live. I feel like it has a great foundation and we can continue editing. I noticed in your information box the coordinates you have are different from the ones I had already noted above it. What address and website for coordinates did you use so that I can compare in case my information is wrong? I am going on a scavenger hunt on Sunday to take photos to add to the page. This will avoid having to gain privileges to post others pictures.Kehli.west (talk) 17:23, 4 July 2019 (UTC)
- @Kehli.west: Thank you for the tip on the replies. I have a lot to learn about wiki code. That is a great idea to take your own photos. If you need a hand in editing them, I would be glad to help. I have Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom and a little editing skill to get white balance, a little sharpness and color saturation. However your photos my not need any tweaks, just offering to help, if needed. I googled the coordinates. Perhaps I should fact check them and get back to you. Is there a specific task I can help with? Mightymize (talk) 19:36, 4 July 2019 (UTC)
- @Mightymize: Hey that will be great if you can edit the pictures. After I take them on Sunday, I can email them to you. I also wondered have you found much information about the pavilions and the playground. I have not had much success in finding information about them. Great job on fact checking those coordinates. I have just been looking for more article to provide credibility to the information in the article.Kehli.west (talk) 21:15, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
