[edit]The two or three sentences here could easily be merged with American Nationalism. This "article" has no sources or references and nothing of substance. 70.90.87.73 (talk) 16:41, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
- I disagree about the proposed merges. While Americanism is similar to American Nationalism, it is more than that. It's more of a belief in superiority of the U.S. in general. Sf46 (talk) 22:54, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
- Nationalism often manifests as a superiority complex. I say merge this with American exceptionalism. --Kevlar (talk • contribs) 22:59, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
- An inferiority complex, actually, the fear the knowledge of inferiority brings bluster, macho-posturing and aggression. The article should, though, I agree, be deleted and any worth it might have added to the Nationalism page. 105.236.207.213 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 07:41, 8 February 2014 (UTC)
